hairtugger

I've been thin on top for the past decade or more. As I turned 38 and then 39 my hair loss seemed to accelerate. Seeing the top of my scalp for the first time, I decided to finally take some steps to try and hold on to my hair for a bit longer. If I can regrow or strengthen any dormant or weakened follicles, even better.

Getting on finasteride was the first thing I did, that was about 3 months ago now. I've since added Minoxidil and Nizoral. I expect the next few weeks will be difficult, but have a positive attitude and a good gut feeling that I'll respond well to the treatments.

So far, no negative side effects of the finasteride. After some testicular pain and discomfort in the first few weeks, only positive sexual side effects have persisted. Not sure if they are temporary or permanent, but I'm not complaining.

I am also tugging on my hair at different points during the day to strengthen the roots and stimulate blood flow to the scalp. This feels good and I think can only aid absorption of scalp treatments, in addition to just shocking the follicles into action. Let's see.

I hope to get some advice and a little support as I start this journey, which I'm undertaking with a pretty good sense of humor and realism. I am taking pictures every month, and will start posting them at some point once my condition changes.
