Presumably, I started losing my hair at the age of 21, but I didn't recognize my hair loss until I turned 22. I dealt with a denial phase for about a year, during which the condition of my hair worsened and my crown started to thin. I'm now 23. My formerly thick afro is significantly thinner than it used to be, yet still nobody notices that I'm going bald. Even if it isn't noticeable to others, my hair loss has delivered a major blow to my self-esteem. This is why I'm doing my best to treat it before it's too late.
I have a Norwood 2V balding pattern, and miniaturized hair at the corners suggests that I'm headed towards Norwood 3V territory if treatments fail to work. I saw Dr. Bernstein in Dec. 2012 and was prescribed generic Finasteride and Minoxidil. I'm hoping for some regrowth in the crown and at the temple points.
