Hi guys,

So, I had sides on finasteride 1mg pills, that came back even worse after quitting and lingered for months, testosterone dropped massively in this period (I guess 'post finasteride syndrome', yes, it exists).

I am now back to normal, testosterone levels are too.

I am hesitantly tempted to try topical, but don't want to take any risks for the same happening to me again.

I am considering a really small micro dose of topical finasteride daily, as I have read of two reddit users having good results and no change in serum DHT after months using 0.00166% finasteride topical (1mg in 60ml of carrier solution – putting 2ml on scalp daily).

User 1: "I have used 0.00166_% x ~2 ml daily for months without change in serum DHT."
User 2: "since I made the original post I tried lowering the dose all the way down to 0.00166_%(1mg in 60ml of minoxidil) from which I use 2ml at a time. This is the only dose i can use daily without experiencing sides."

Does anyone here have any experiences doing the same, or something similar, here?
Would this have any benefit for preventing some hair loss (using minoxidil too at and stemoxydine as carrier solution) and reducing scalp DHT?
Is there a risk of finasteride accumulating in my body over a long period?

If it could have a small effect, I am willing to try, as long as I don’t get sides. Basically, my aim is to not change my serum DHT at all, I accept that this will be at the expense of my hair, but the only option for me is no finasteride at all, or try something like this.

Thanks,

Just take topical dutasteride.
You won't have any sides like you do with topical finasteride.

Really? But I read on that Reddit post the guy said the following, which put me off it right away:
  • I have found that a 0.0004% dutasteride concentration added to the aforementioned finasteride topical reduced my DHT levels by about 60% over the course of several weeks. I am now discontinuing dutasteride because the only way to address this effect is to lower the concentration even further, compromising effectiveness on the scalp. If I were to have systemic reduction of DHT, I would rather achieve it by increasing the finasteride concentration significantly rather than introducing a miniscule amount of dutasteride. Again, this is because finasteride has a half life of only 6 hours and thus accumulates far less. Furthermore, the long half life of dutasteride suggests significantly greater danger of accidental exposure to other people.

It looks like that guy added dutasteride to his existing finasteride topical though. Some anecdotal reports on this forum suggest that topical dutasteride by itself doesn't go systemic as much.

As far as I know it is a matter of time: What I mean is that given long enough time like a year your blood have a certain amount of the topical and it will be along the lines with using oral.

Fair enough, that's quite possible. I'm not sure if I've seen anyone that's been on topical dutasteride for a year+. @Mustang?

Hey guys. I learned about topical dutasteride from this forum and found it quite effective. I found it online from a pharmacy /lab in Italy called Parati. Tried to convince my regualr GP to prescripbe it with no luck but was able to get the prescription over a videolcall from a online doctor service Mobidoctor.

The topical dutasteride was far less side effects than finasteride so much safer and from the studies ive seen also better results. Never tried finasteride myself though

Highly recomened
Yea check my thread as I use Topical Finasteride and the compound pharmacy I use now sell Topical Dutasteride with private prescription. The Italy Parati would not sell without prescription and in the United Kingdom regulations changed where our doctors stopped prescribing for insurance purpose.

Hey,

But what i did was just to get a prescription via mobidoctor.eu. There I paid 24 euro for the video consultation and prescription, the Parati sent it right away. but remember the exact price but they chang4ed around 20 euro or something. So quite cheap.
As far as i know, you can also use mobidoctor in the UK
This is awesome thanks for the advice, did you request what percentage Finasteride? As they use higher Strenght in their lotions?
