How long has it taken people on finasteride to stop having hair fall out. Im still noticing about 20 hairs in the sink after 3 months of use.

I am 2 months in and lose alot less tha nbefore, but yes i still shed like 15 hairs in the shower, 10 while styling. Before was like 3-4x that much.
It's impossible to shed 0, even non balding people shed.

I've been on 1.25 generic for a month and I can't run a comb through my hair without getting a dozen or more hairs in it.

What really panics me is that i only lose hair on the top. If I comb the back and sides I get maybe one hair in the comb, sometimes none at all.

Is this typical of balding? Is it a sign that I'm not responding to finasteride?

If finasteride blocks dht as soon as it's metabolized into your system it seems that this shed would stop.

I'm so frustrated, nobody seems to know a damn thing about how this works. You'd think somebody would know how something so many men have experienced actually happens.

Its frustrating i know.

Yeah are balding. Hair follicles on the back and sides are less susceptible to dht.

1 month is not enough. They say give it 3 to 6 monthsto see results

So dht literally makes hair "fall out", as in it pulls free easier.

If I'm a good responder to finasteride will this stop? Is that the sign I'm looking for?

Do some research on DHT and the hair loss process. It attacks hair folices, restricting the amount of blood and nutrients they recieve. This makes hairs fall out and then grow back thiner and weaker. Until eventually no hair can grow out the folicle.

Good response would be not having any hair fall out or seeing hair regrow thicker.

There's always going to be some hair that falls out. And yes, regrowing thicker is the goal but from what I understand the resting phase lasts 3 months, so therefore the minimum wait time for finasteride is 3 months.

If I she'd an even amount from all over my head I'd feel much better, but most of the hair I she'd is from the front or the thin spot on the crown.
