Hello,

I need to go on a 10 days trip in Greece , July.. so it will be very hot. I will go with my new girlfriend. All I need is to have fun , sunbaths, countless daily swimming, diving under water, etc..

The thing is I don't want her to notice what is going on with my hair.

Right now I'm on a french lace which I will replace in 10 days. 2 units are on the way, 0.03mm thin skin and a full Swiss lace. Will the 0.03 thin skin hold for so many days without the need of fully reglue it ? I can reglue the front in 10 minutes on the bathroom but I need to make sure that's all I have to do.

1. Will the 0,03 unit hold for full 10 days just with minor front reattach ? Maybe there is a better thicker system that will hold it ? i.e. 0.08 thin skin though its more easier to be detected due to shining front line , will that system be better ?

2 What will be the impact of daily hot weather and swimming daily for several times ?

3. Should I use tape and fully secure the unit with double tape layer all around the perimeter ?

4. When I get out of the water, I understand that I need to gently dry the hair with a towel by easily pressing it. I will do that but after a few minutes will I have a fully dried hair due to very hot weather in July) and I can play a little with my hair without the risk of the system to be noticed ? What will happen if i jump again in the pool and repeat the drying process , etc ?

The thing is I need to make sure that I have a system that will hold to my head without the need of fully reattach it as it can take to much time to stay in bathroom and can rise questions ... Further more , I always style my hair on the back so my front line will be 100% visible when I go out.

It's going to be difficult hiding it for that length of time, in hot weather, swimming regularly, whilst being with your gf basically 24/7. The biggest challenge is the hairline, because that will be the most obvious exposed area.

I wear 0.03 thin skin and I can tell you it is uncomfortable in hot weather. It is bearable if you are staying in the shade and dipping in/out of the pool, wearing a sun-hat too maybe. Go in/out of the AC areas. I've been in 40 degree weather on holiday and have generally been OK when doing these things.

Swimming will of course be harsh on the hair, due to the chlorine. Mostly when I swim I don't put my head under water, or not every day at least.

In that kind of weather I touch up every couple of days but if you're with the bf (who doesn't know about the hair) then you might want to touch up every day, morning and evening - just a little bit of bond at the hairline is usually enough.

I haven't worn lace but i think it is far more forgiving in hot weather. And thin skin will tend to show more because it shines and the lift is more obvious too.

I've never used tape so can't advise on that. I fully bond with liquid only.

Use plenty of leave-in spray conditioner too. That will get rid of the dryness.

I would go with a system that you can attach the back and perimeter with long hold tape - I've used Supertape or Walker Ultrahold tape and get up to a month between attachments. Of course, in hotter weather you'll get less than a month, but 10 days should be ok if you keep an eye on it. I find skin systems have a stronger hold with tape than lace ones, but lace has some breathability which is advantageous in hot weather.

I'd try and get a skin system that has a lace front/hairline, and attach this with glue (I use Ghost Bond Supreme or Platinum). You'll almost certainly need to redo the hairline during your 10 days, so you'll have to factor in 10 to 20 minutes private time at some point in order to clean and reglue the hairline. You'll have to find some excuse or legitimate reason to be alone somewhere for that period of time.

I'd try and wear sun hats as much as you can. If you feel the hairline lifting and can't find private time to redo, a temporary option is some sort of headband that you put over the hairline until you can get that private time to redo it.

I'd wear leave in conditioner as much as possible too, preferably with UV protection to help prevent fading.

Swimming is another matter, I don't have any experience with hair systems while swimming but what I would suggest is not to dive headfirst into a pool etc without ensuring your system has a strong hold. If you can feel any movement or lifting, sort that out first.

I think you should enjoy your trip but keep awareness of how your system looks and feel in terms of attachment at all times. Also, don't go there with an old or shedding system or that'll create more problems and anxiety. Get a nice new one ready shortly before the trip. Take all your hair system supplies needed too just in case of an emergency with it (but keep them hidden in a toiletry bag so your girlfriend doesn't see them). Good luck.

Thank you much for your reply ! I already ordered and paid 2 systems, they are on the way, one is thinskin 0.03mm and one is swiss lace. I need to use one of them.I ordered them both because I really enjoyed Swiss lace 2 years ao, then I switched to french and was very disappointed, The reason I ordered 0.03 thin skin is because I see every well know hair system owner from youtube its using it, or they use to have swiss lace and when switched to thin skin , they never went back to lace. Further more , as you said the tape and adhesive its much more powerful on thin skin.

I just need my thin skin frontline to stay here in hot temperature and after swimming. I will do my best not to over do crazy things in water but I will swim for sure.

I also hope it will not burn my head, I see some videos saying that this 0.03 lthin skin can breath pretty well.

I have a french lace right now and I use to have a Swiss lace which was the best with incredible breathability but this days I see everyone is wearing 0.03mm (including you) which means it must be the best. Thank you
