Alright, at 10 months on 1mg finasteride., minoxidil/retin-a at night, 5% minoxidil at day, and nizoral 2% every 3rd (using head and shoulders on other days to control itching) i have no progress on my crown. I'm really bummed because I've seen some photos of people with great results on the crown. What should I add? I tried folligen spray a couple days ago, and had a very bad chemical reaction to it. I don't know if I'm allergic to it, or if it does not mix well with the minoxidil/retin-a i put on it an hour before, but i had to wash it of only after an hour of application, and when i woke up in the morning ther were tiny blisters all over my scalp. I'm almost to the point where I'm considering a hair transplant, but at 25 and hair transplant at the crown sounds like an awful idea. What do you guys suggest I add?

I was just wondering if you could give us all a little more details on your experience so far. Have you had any sides with propecia? Has your hair loss atleast stopped or slowed down? Have you had any sheds? Is your hair thicker????

i have no side effects from propecia, but considering i haven't gotten laid in over 6 months, having less libido might help! i have had an increase in growth rate in facial hair from the minoxidil, and oddly enough, my leg hairs grew longer and thicker(not sure if it's from minoxidil or just my hormones, but i'm a lot more self conscious about my leg hairs since i've taken minoxidil). i can't really comment on whether my hair loss has stopped, but i think i might be slightly worse off than when my hair loss started, and there really hasn't been any thickening of the hair. i thought the treatment was working for the first 4 months, because it did seem like my crown was more dense and thicker, but then after 5 months on i really had to disagree with the optism i had early on.

Have you maintained the hair that you have? I would consider that progress. If things haven't gotten better Give it another 8 months before trying something new. (dutasteride, Fluridil). You might want to add spironolactone now if you want to kick it up a notch.

bombscience, did you notice any additional shedding when you started using spironolactone?

hey bombscience, i was actually considering adding spironolactone and moving up to 5% xandrox. i can't find any prices for spironolactone though on dr lee's site. can you tell me how much it is and how long of a supply it is?

I just bought 2% spironolactone lotion from Dr Lee for $20 and change. It's a sixty-something ml bottle, enough for two months of once a day application, or one month of twice a day application.

i hear it's pretty hard to use twice a day considering people need to go outside and the stuff smells and would be noticeable.

Ehh, it doesn't smell that much at all. I put it on once a day, at night, and there is no smell. Although I did try putting it on on a Saturday morning, and 'wore' it throughout the warm day. With the warm outdoor conditions, I did notice a smell but it was hardly noticeable, it was distinct, but not a foul odor. I compare it to someone being able to pick up the particular flavor of your deodorant and being able to tell you exactly what flavor deodorant you are wearing. It only happens when you are outside in very warm weather. If those are not the conditions, then no hint of odor, knock on wood.
