Hi everyone, I have been taking 1 mg of finasteride for 10 months. I have been taking oral minoxidil 2.5mg for 3 months.

At the beginning of the treatment I also used topical minoxidil but my head itched and I stopped. My hair is still weak, rubbing it or shaking my head over the bathtub causes it to fall out.

Shouldn't the hair get stronger after this time?
It seems there is a bit of improvement, but I still lose it, which makes me nervous. Do you have any advice?

Be patient my young Jedi. Hair loss recovering is a long process. But you are responding well. Nice work.

He used a Close up with flash on first picture. Theres barely any change. I would say he has just maintained at best. Nevermind he improved. Quality and thickness, but not so much the thin crown spot.

It's not the flash, but the light in the room is on, but the camera is closer, the same light is on in the last photo

Ideally for long term stabilization,

having hair shedding returning to around prebalding levels at some point would be a good sign.

But is not essential as everyone's situation is slightly different.

Like House said, 10 months (+ 3months min) is still early on in the process, so it often keeps improving with time.

If this is the beginning of the process, when can I expect the best results?

Some wrote that you have to wait 1 year for good results. As for the hair loss, I thought that once I was taking finasteride the hair loss would decrease and it would be stronger. That's why he asks such questions.

Maybe you have some advice on what else I could do but improve the results and keep them as long as possible?

Don’t change anything for at least the next 6 months. Then compare and evaluate (be consistent with the pics, ie lighting, angle, hair length).

Oral min alone can cause a significant shed early on so you can’t reasonably expect to see results this soon due to the nature of hair cycles.

Personally I'd be happy with the results. The crown definitely filled in! If you don't get any better, you'll still maintain for years so you're doing great! I'm new to this but the guys saying it's still early are right. Numerous research studies show that the most significant results occur by most people in 12 months but still improvement can be seen in up to two years! You're responding well. The sheds are just sheds. As long as hair comes back! Hopefully you'll continue to improve but I see exceptional gains and I'd be satisfied AND hopeful!

Thank you for your kind word, I hope it will improve even more. Some people have really fantastic results with finasteride and minoxidil.

No problem! Your hair looks great. It's not perfect BUT it's great. Keep on your routine and maybe some day get a transplant or we'll have new Technology by then!!

Do you think there is still a chance for improvement with finasteride and minoxidil?

Yes, I absolutely do. But I think the majority of your gains will occur within the next three months BUT then there could still be gains up to the two year mark. The research indicates this to be the case as do numerous recent peer reviewed studies.

I also think that within a 5-7 years MAXIMUM, we will have advancements in hair that will give anyone a full head of hair, ANYONE.. So now we are attempting to maintain as much as possible.

There are also numerous other treatments less researched so less safe BUT with people reporting gains like Breezula, RU5551, Pyrilutimide is just around the corner, microneedling.

They are literally growing half human half chemical clones in labs all over the world. We will soon break the code and humans will be mentally and emotionally crazier than ever but we'll be able to clone our own hair in labs and we'll look really good as the world goes insane...I'm serious. We'll have hair BUT we'll have issues too

Be patient: work on your career, your physical health, your relationships. Your hair is more than good enough to get you to your goals!
