15% minoxidil

Just spoke with Dr. Lee and he is very high on his new invention of 15% minoxidil and is prescribing it exclusively for frontal temporal baldness with spironolactone after. Could this be the holy grail? It is relatively inexpensive at $88 for a 3- 4mo supply. I think I am going to do it.

Any opinions on this product either way? He also suggested I stay away form Propecia.

This sounds like a product that is right up Funkster's ally. I wonder if it is safe to use. Lee is really proud of this stuff. Also it comes with a spray applicator making it super convenient and not at all messy, one of the main reasons I stuck with lewenburgs sh*t so long.

Unfortunately this product is not available to U.K. guys

Hmmm. It does sound good and could probably re-grow alot more hair tha regular 5% minoxidil. I am probably going to stick to 5% minoxidil until it stops working for me. I will save the 15% minoxidil as a last resort.
Redbone : If you get it keep us posted on results.

Yeah, good thinking Dr. Lee suggests the same thing. I have been on 2% minoxidil with retin A for 8 months and it has not re-grown a significant amount of hair I believe that is why he is suggesting the 15%. I am not a beginner which I believe it would be bad for.

I will be ordering in two weeks.

I still have a supply until the 15 of Nov when I will order Lee's 15% minoxidil and Xandrox 5% for an immeadiate savings of $100 per mo. I suspect they will call me because he has already called me several times in the past asking questions about the treatment.

By the way did you notice a Middle Eastern or Hebrew accent on him and his secretary who takes the calls? Just want to know if it was him or just an imposter.

One thing I can say for sure is that Lee is much more upfront and better to deal with- getting answers from Lewenberg was like pulling teeth and his solution always was "use more formula"

It has worked well for me though after I finally figured out how to use it. It is the first and only minoxidil I have used so 5% might work just as well never tried it. My hair seems to respond well to treatment even the Crinagen and Tricomin I was on first seemed to re-grow hair. At that point in time I didnt even know what the big three was.

DPS nutrition has the N0X3 and Kleine Becker Oxydrene. Also Univeral nutrition makes one. Go to the web site and poke around. They list for around $79 a bottle but DPS sells for around $37

BTW did the Lewenberg you spoke to have a thick accent?

That is odd because he made a real point to call me around 6pm one night and go over my regime, telling me how to apply it and what not. Strange conversion because it was all him just blabbering.

I am thinking of sending him a Turd-O Gram.

Sorry to regress the thread back a bit but you mention dr lee's 15% minoxidil.
I'm thinning a little all over the top but it's not too noticable yet but my hairline is the main problem as it's creeping up more and more.
I have been using 5% Rogaine and now generic since February of this year. I now only apply about 1.5 mgs once per day to the top and frontal areas of the scalp. I do not use Nizoral as my scalp is fine and not irritated at all.
So far I can only report shortish periods of increased shedding but no noticable regrowth. (Increased shedding is a good sign from what I gather?!) My hairline seems to have crept further back a little faster since starting the 'regimen'. I don't want to increase to 2 applications of minoxidil per day.
Any recommendations as to where I could go from here? I am strongly thinking about propecia/proscar but having read your info about Dr Lee's 15%, I might like to give that a go.

Cheers.

You need to add a topical DHT inhibitor like spironolactone 5% or Revivogen, if you are able and of age take propecia, dont let people here scare you off about the side effects, it is rare but sucks when it happens I guess.

You should try Lee's Xandrox 5% if you have no results from regular minoxidil, then move up to the big guns the 15%. It is designed for non responding hair.

I use 2% nizoral not to help with irritation but because it lowers DHT in the Scalp. It really helped me when I first started using it.

Well I looked on the minoxidil.com (Dr. Lees) site and am not too sure I want to splash out over $80 per month for the 15% Xandrox. The normal 5% is also pretty steep isn't it?
I'll increase my generic minoxidil intake to 2mgs once per day and will order some generic 1mg propecia from a site that offers it dirt cheap from India. (If you want the web address I can give it). What's your take on buying from an overseas company by the way?
Also, do you take any vitamin and health supplements in addition to your inhibitors? It'd be good to start taking some supplements even if it does not directly help with hairloss, it'd be healthier for the body generally!

Cheers for the response.

$88 dollars will get you a 125ml bottle. Used 1x a day this bottle should last you approx 4 months. That's about $22 a month without shipping. Not a horrible deal. I'm wondering if a 1x application of 15% is much better than 2X of 5%? What if I applied 5% in the morning and 15% at night.. hrrrm :).

Thats the plan bomb you should do that as I am going to do it but I will use 5% spironolactone at night also.

i thought you wouldn't get any enhanced effect if you used a higher dose of minoxidil than 5%? in lee's site he says 1ml of 15% is equal to 3ml of 5%, but rogaine says it won't enhance results if you add more than 1ml 5% per application. i'm confused.

$88 Dollars for a bottle with 125ml in.not bad unless your using it all over the scalp.Im suffering diffuse thinning and use 2-4 ml of minoxidil twice a day.
I supose its possible to use less, but it must take forever to apply. It does`nt help when your hairs quite long as mine is.

your not supposed to use it all over your scalp I believe it is only supposed to be used on the temples. Diffuse thinners should use the 5% product sprayed I would think.

Sorry I misunderstood. Didn't realise the bottle lasted for that long so it's not a bad deal. I also read that it is a better bet for the hairline. This is my main concern. I've used 5% generic minoxidil/Rogaine now since February and I must say my hairline is looking worse for it. Could that 15% Dr Lee's be a good bet? Also just ordered some cheap 1mg Propecia to start on next month.

Are there any other recommendations on the best way to try to preserve the hairline?

Cheers.
