Guys, I know this is so common for people my age to ask this, but I have been concerned lately about it and just kind of want a good answer! If some of you don't mind and inform me about my hairline! I'm kind of ignorant to the stages of recession, balding, and how fast it progress or if it can stop progressing! First, I want to say that I can't tell if I have always had this hairline from older photos, but I know that I have always had blonder hair on the sides and some photos seem to show the same hairline, at least from what I can see! Anyway, I know that genetics has A LOT to do with male pattern baldness, so I can tell you that my father and his side definitely have experienced hair loss, but still have hair on the top and not completely bald. My dad is 44 and he has quite a bit of recession and for the last few years he has been developing a bald spot on his crown. When he was younger he had slight recession, but stayed there for quite a while until of course lately. My grandfather (mom's side) has most of his hair still in his late 60's. I know it isn't just the mom's side or just the dad's side, but I wanted to know if it was still possible for me to take after my grandfather (mom's father)? I may be answering my own questions, so I apologize if I come across kind of naive. Anyway, I attached a picture of my hair slicked back right after getting out of the shower and tried to get the best angle! This was the best photo I could get of the sides of the hairline and the top too! Thanks to anyone who can give me knowledgable and considerate answers! I really appreciate it!

*Side Note*

- I'm thinking about buzzing my head, not just because of the recession, but also because it's easier, so I was wondering if you think my hairline would be well suited with a buzzed or shaved head! Thanks! unnamed.jpg

It's difficult to tell from that one picture. There are no reference points like eyebrows, ears etc. I'm struggling to tell what angle it is taken from, i.e. how far above the shot is from, looking down on your head. It certainly doesn't look too bad. I had really bad recession before 18 which then slowed down and didn't really move for 5 years afterwards. Shaving your head might give a better idea if parts are receeding/thinning, they will look lighter (the stubble area).
