18 year old with receding temples? Should I start finasteride?

I’ve noticed lately that the temples of my hairline have gone back a bit and I’m pretty worried I’m starting to lose my hair. My dad is bald, but my mom’s dad still had a full head of hair when he was 50. I haven’t noticed any hair loss on my crown or anywhere else and there hasn’t been any crazy amounts of shedding from my head either.

Ask your dad when he started losing hair. Mine started in his 30s, I noticed hairline thinning at 30, got on finasteride at 31 and I regret not trying sooner as my hairline was like yours when I first noticed but over the 9 months of waiting and fear of finasteride I went from a norwood 2 to norwood 2.5. At the very least get prescribed finasteride and take it when you are ready. I even got pre-finasteride blood work done as a precaution.
