Here is my progress thus far for about a 2.5 month period from early June to Late August. The early June pics are at the time I quit finasteride and started dutasteride (both orally and topically) as well as the other products listed in my regimen. I have seen great results in all area except the hairline. I have seen some thickening there, but my hairline hasn't moved as of yet (it needs to move down a lot, as you can see). I am hoping it will, but I am doubtful. I am looking into FUSS for the hairline in the near future.

Just from checking the posts here, I am planning on seeing Dr. Alvi Armani. I emailed pics today and am waiting for a reply. I am hoping I can get what I need done for about 10k.

I'm 28. I started noticing thinning at about 24, but ~80% of the visual balding took place within the last year. Before that, my thinning wasn't that noticable except with a top view, which most people don't see because I'm fairly tall. My frontal hair has balded dramatically in the last year (while on finasteride).

I've heard he is aggressive on the hairline, which is a postive for me. I disagree with most people that say a low hairline on an older man looks unusual. I hope to look like that when I'm in my 50's+. I would like the hairline I had at about 24, which is probably a shade higher than, say, 18, but still youthful.

Damn that sucks u got bald even while on finasteride...

I hope u realize what ur doing with the hair transplant, esp with a low hairline since u realize that ur balding is gonna get worse and worse

That's insane! Congratulations!

Any side effects with 2.5mg? Has your body hair changed/reduced at all?

I'm not taking 2.5 mg of dutasteride. I was taking 1 mg (or 2 pills) daily for the first couple months, and have recently dropped it to .5 mg (1 pill) daily. Topically, I am putting 4 pills (2 mg) in my 60ml container of minoxidil, which I put 4 ml on per day, so I am getting about .15mg of dutasteride topically per day.

The only side I have noticed is decreased libido and decreased sensitivity in that area (from points that were already low). I have started taking Cabergoline in hopes to fight that battle resulting in some very mild success.

I haven't noticed a reduction in body hair which I hope happens, as I have more than enough. There may be some improvement there, but not that I have noticed.

I have noticed no other sides effects, but I am not terribly sensitive to changes in my body, so things could be happening under the radar.

On a side note, my progress has been made with the cheapest generic dutasteride available: Dutagen, from United Pharmacies. I see no reason to use anything else.

I dont know if mixing dutasteride with minoxidil will do anything. I think the success came from taking pills orally. The alcohol that minoxidil contains might dissolve dutasteride? College any thoughts?

Thanks guys. I wouldn't discount the use of dutasteride topically. I buy Dutagen from unitedphamacies.com for about $1/pill. I put four pills in a 60ml of minoxidil and use 2ml 2x per day. So the bottle lasts 15 days. So, the cost of dutasteride topically for me is only ~25 cents/day. I don't recall the sources, I'm sure anyone could find them with searching, but I have read that topical dutasteride COULD inhibit scalp dht far more than oral dutasteride. I don't know if it is true or not, but for the price, it is worth a try. I cannot argue with the results thus far.

Also, I am using nizoral everday instead of the usual 3x per week. I believe the 3x per week is recommened for the intended use of nizoral, which isn't hair loss. I don't know if everday helps, but it might. Use a normal shampoo first to clean out the hair, and you will need very little nizoral to lather your scalp. A bottle lasts me about 2 months.

WOW! Amazing success with the back. If you've had this much success on 2.5 months, imagine what you'll look like in another 4 months. Keep at it...The front looks slightly improved, but maybe it just takes longer in that area.

Suppose that combining dutasteride with Ozbrew would help in the front? I don't think I've heard of anyone adding dutasteride to Ozbrew...hmmm

Harie - your regimen is very interesting. Have you seen any results?

My regemin will change a bit once the finasteride gets here. The only thing I can say has shown results so far is the Waseda ZO treatment. That stuff works fast.

I have only been on minoxidil for a week, and lasercomb for a month so can't comment on them yet.

Thanks. I'm interested in zinc but can't find it in anything but pill form.

I've been on minoxidil 5 weeks now. Too early for regrowth, I suppose, but I have noticed a general thickening of existing hair especially around those areas I am immediately applying it.

Good luck.
