Hey guys,

I was hoping to be posting my success story about now, but I've run into a momentary snag. Had literally perfect results until about 5 months ago when this set in. I've brought it up with both my dermotologist and doctor and they can't see what the problem is, but something's up. I haven't noticed any shedding beyond what the average person would expect, and my hairline looks fine. I do have similar thinning streaks at the back of my head through running from the crown down to what I imagine is the permanent zone. Things seem to have been slowly improving, but I want to know what the deal is so I can do something about it and get back on the train again.

One half are from the right side of my scalp which I consider normal, and the others are from the left where I think the thinness is. It's completely unnoticable when my hair is shampooed for some reason, so I don't know whether it's just because of lengths or something.

My current regimen is 1 mg finasteride everyday which has been the case for roughly 2 years now, and about a month ago I switched from 1 mg oral min to 2, and so far all I've noticed is that vellus hairs else where on my body have begun to turn terminal. I've also been doing some intense Nizoral treatments lately to get rid of my dandruff.

So please everyone I'm open to thoughts and suggestions.

I have the same thing on the left side of my head (not visible unless I move hair). I think it started when I used Rogaine foam which overall caused a lot of shedding. I think it is a Telogen Effluvium type of hair loss and not due to male pattern baldness. I would just continue with what you are doing.

My dermatologist does think that I am prone to Telogen Effluvium, but he also thought minoxidil took care of it last time. I've been trying to monitor minoxidil through other hairs on my body but I guess you're right. The hairs on my knuckles seemed to stop growing, I pumped dosage and they got bigger, now they seem to be where they were 5 months or so ago. I guess it's hard since its just been awhile over all, but then again it takes awhile to assess a treatment.

Could you please tell me a little bit about your time frame/results so far? From what I understand you went on form had a bad reaction and now you're back on it?

I used liquid Rogaine which was too irritating, then went to Rogaine foam which caused a lot of shedding and crawling/itchiness even on the sides and back and now I am using Lipogaine sensitive. All you can really do is wait--it does not look like hair loss from male pattern baldness which is good.

You're right it's certainly not male pattern baldness, my hairline is incredible. I think it might just be irritation from Nizoral, I was leaving it in for like 15 minutes at a time. So I guess I'm on the hunt for the most sensitive shampoo I can find for now.
