20 year old desperate for advice

This summer I took finpecia for about 1.5 or 2 months. I soon noticed side effects: testicular pain, decreased libido, erectile dysfunction. I quit finpecia about 3 months ago, yet the side effects persist today. I can't tell if they are even improving.

To be honest, I am terrified. I hate myself for trying finpecia, for not being more thorough in my research, and for being so shallow as to put my sexual life permanently at risk for this cosmetic reason. I am horrified that these side effects may be permanent. I just yesterday discovered some of the more disturbing research studies (such as the one from George Washington University) and since then have been extremely anxious.

I will schedule an appointment with a doctor, but because of logistical problems I won't be able to do this until 2 months from now. So my question is, what can I do at this point to improve my chances of recovery? Are there supplements or vitamins I can take, or activities I can do? Please, any advice at all is appreciated. In the meantime I will just pray to God that my body is able to naturally heal in the next two months.

The above advice is good. There is no denying that you are in the sh*t though.

2 years and things are getting worse and worse by the month for me.

Oh f*** off and go see a psychologist. You've clearly got serious psychological issues. Don't go around telling people in distress that they're "in the sh*t".

OP, relax, you're going to be fine. Just keep it off your mind and before you know it, it'll be gone. Your body is readjusting.

I am not saying he won't recover. I bet he does. People like me are a rare case it seems. However, he is still in the sh*t for now.

Thank you very much for the replies. I will try to relax-. I know being anxious will only make matters worse. I take a multivitamin with zinc in it--do you think I should take a separate zinc supplement in addition to that? Below is a link to the arginine I am considering buying. Does it look like the right kind?

Thanks again everyone.

Why do you want to use Arginine? it is just a supplement that will give you a temporary boost. The last thing you need is something clouding your progress or lack of. It is vital that you know exactly where you stand with this now.

Stick to the Zinc and Multi vitamin and possibly high quality fish oil. I have spent over £800 on supplements and medicines trying to cure PFS and none have really done jack sh*t.

Once you have established a baseline. Go ahead and buy all the performance boosting supplements you want but until then you should just relax and take car of yourself in my opinion.

Is Arginine only a short-term boost type of supplement? What about Zinc? I was under the impression that if taken for an extended period of time, both of them could (if I am lucky) help my body re-adjust chemically and thus improve my side effects permanently.

I am not a qualified doctor or nutritionist.

They are both just supplements. Do as you choose.

Zinc in the form you'll find it on most supplements is not very effective as it is not well-absorbed by the body.

I'd recommend you to get Zinc Picolinate which is by far the most bioavailable form of Zinc. I've had very good success in boosting my Testosterone to Estrogene ratio with that one here: http://goo.gl/sbDKv

no, it's not only this.
it helps (a bit) for long term

for example also pde5 inhibitors helps not only for the need of the moment, but they corroborate the erectile function in long term (at certain small doses)
there was a study somewhere

however i'm not a doctor
pde5I have possible sides, this is not the case of argynine
(if u r not allergic to it)

Thanks everyone, for all the advice. For the 3 days since starting this thread, I've been going for short runs every day, doing push ups and sit ups, and taking 75mg of Zinc Picolinate before bed (in addition to my usual multivitamin and fish oil). All this seems to be helping a lot, though my guess is that it is mostly the Zinc. My testicular pain is very much improved and my erections are noticeably stronger than they were just 3 days ago. Also, this morning, for the first time in a while, I woke up with an erection. I don't want to consider this a victory just yet, since it could be a fluke temporary improvement, but I am definitely excited about the progress so far.

You will be OK eventually mate.

You should add some sprints to the cardio - sprinting is excellent for releasing HGH. I am doing something similar myself at the moment. 30-40 minutes cardio and then press ups, pull ups, kettlebell snatches, dips.

Hey guys. My progress has slowed. I have been getting some morning erections, which is a good sign, but my erections are generally still weaker than they were before, and they don't stay hard unless I am really putting effort into it. Maybe I am improving slowly, but it's hard to tell. My testicular pain is also still around, though I think it's less frequent than it was a couple weeks ago.

I have been running, doing push ups and sit ups, and taking 50mg of Zinc Picolnate before bed (should I stop taking the Zinc?). Still, I could be exercising more, and I do feel better after exercise, so I'll make an effort to do it more.

Here is my question. I scheduled an appointment with a doctor for next Thursday. What should I tell her? I mean, I know generally what I'm going to say: "My balls have been sore and my erections have been weak, and I think it's because of propecia." But from there, what do I ask for? I know that some guys on these forums have had doctors that were not particularly helpful, because they didn't believe how serious propecia side effects could be. So in order to help make my visit to the doctor most beneficial for me, what should I do? Ask for blood tests of testosterone and estrogen? Ask about a particular prescription? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks guys. And Joe, thanks--I've added sprints to my routine, and it's feels good to do them.
