21 days on Dutas

After 10 yrs on finasteride w/ no sides at all I 'm wondering if I'm starting to feel sides from Dutas.

Last 2 nights I have woke up in the middle of the night w/ bad headache and the sweats. Also have been getting the sweats during the day.

I'm scared feel like a guinea pig taken something that's not FDA approved for hairloss.

Hair was giving up in crown and vertex before started Dutas but just noted hairline is given also. You couldn't given see thru it now you can. Mostt of shed in the last week even the hair transplant in front seemed to shed. Yikes!

Give it another week and see how I feel. Scary sh*t!

the same with me. I took it (Avo) everyday (.5 mg) for 7 days, started about three weeks ago. Experienced like bad brain irritation. Woke up in the middle of the night in heavy sweat, couldn´t realy sleep through the night and i always feel a little preasure in my head. I also had like a little headache over the day, everyday. But the worst was some kind of confusion in the brain and paranoia. Then after this week of taking it daily i reduced it to .5 mg every third day. seem like sides going a little off, but this night again, woke up in heavy sweat and was of kind of spacy, at the first moment didn´t realy know were i was for some seconds. Might be, that the body has to adapt to this drug before accepting it, who knows for sure??? I took 1/4 of Proscar (finasteride) for about 14 month now and still talking it parallel. Sides were not that heavy. What i´m wondering is, that i had problems on finasteride only like weak libido and problems with the eyes that are disapearing know somehow, even though Avo blocks a hole lot more dht then finasteride. Some people in our german forum also reported this.

When the sides will keep on that heavy i´ll have to stop it.

The other thing is, that my skin realy turned good, already after two weeks. I had some problems with acne. Skin is soft now as babyskin. I think also hair is getting better. I know, that it´s way to early to tell after three weeks, but today i was at the barber and it realy looks good, somehow i´m satisfied with it. But if sides going on so heavy i think it´s not worth it.

Did anybody experience kind of the same?

getting the same headaches. Well maybe I will start going 3 days on one off or every other day.

Do people still get results?

It has a long half life.

Shedding definitely stopped. I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one!

yea i dunno to me heachaches tell me that blocking type1 dht is maybe a no no, i never had headaches on finasteride, thats wut scares me of ever starting dutasteride later on.

I'm just over a monthin on Dutas and I get no sides compared to finasteride which I hope is a good sign.

Hair density has got less all over and hope that's part of shedding, I believe it is as even the back is thinner.

I'm sticking pretty much to full dose 0.5mg per day, if I did get some sides I would reduce but keeping th correct dose should give it best effect for DHT reduction.

I think it will be a good few weeks yet before I could really tell if things are likely stabilising, that would be fantastic if it did.

I have taken Avodart for 1 year. The side effects became less pronounced, but it took months.

yeah sides for me took about a month. The only lingering side i really have is the weight gain. But I can chalk that up to lazyness also as I'm not as active as I used to be.

AIM: The aim of the work was to study in colon-rectum cancer mucosae the binding charateristics, as sex steroid receptors. METHODS: Specific androgen (AR), estrogen (ER) and progesterone (PgR) receptors were measured in the tissue samples of 35 patients (15 males, 20 females) undergoing colectomy or coloproctectomy for adenocarcinoma. The characteristics of androgen receptor (AR, DHT-R: dihydrotestosterone receptor) were also investigated using competitive activity of cyproterone acetate, cortisol, aldosterone and steroid-like substances such as deoxycholic and lithocholic acid, present in the milieu of the considered organ. Binding assays and competition tests were conducted using a charcoal dextran method. RESULTS: When present (50%), ER and PgR receptors showed very low levels and no difference was noted between cancerous and the surrounding healthy mucosa. AR were found in all samples from both neoplastic and non neoplastic surrounding mucosa, with no significant difference. Androgen receptor however exhibited an altered binding activity in cancer specimens. Cyproterone acetate did not displace DHT from AR while significant displacing activity was elicited by DHT, testosterone, as well as by lithocholic acid, but not by deoxycholic acid. CONCLUSION: In cancerous large bowel mucosa, androgen receptors show altered binding characteristics. The selective binding of lithocholic acid to AR supports the hypothesis that diet-related endoluminal substances may play a role in cancer development model where molecular alterations such as DNA damage or mutation is the 1st event.

Tumors from patients with primary colon cancer were studied for the presence of steroid hormone receptors for estrogen (E2), progesterone (Prog), dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and glucocorticoid. Ten of 33 (30%) tumors contained high affinity E2 receptors. Four were males and six females with positive assays predominantly from the left colon. Twenty-three of these tumors were also assayed for DHT and Prog and six (26%) contained all three receptors. An additional twelve tumors had at least one receptor, so that 70% of the tumors studied contained one or more receptors. Five of 22 (23%) samples were positive for glucocorticoid receptors. Common etiological factors associated with colon and breast cancer were briefly discussed. 35.5 months, no side effects. When should I expect my intestines to disintegrate?

28 day update

After 28 days on Dr. Reddy's Dutas here is a update.

10 years on finasteride and now 28 days on Dutas hair has definitely stabilized.
Shedding is nil. Hair although didn't regrow yet is so healthy since before I started and seems thicker and manageable.

Added Spectral at night w, Prox-n afterwards I like how it feels and feel the penetration.

Apply foam in morning.

Sides from Dutas. First 3 weeks headaches,fog like feeling, nausea feeling, libido was dead and I mean dead as a limp noodle. Piss like race horse 10 times a day.

4th week headaches are gone so is nausea. Now I was wondering and I' ll find out when I take it again if it was the MSM. I thought that was giving me headaches and nausea because I stopped a couple of days ago and symptoms subsided. I will take again today and seE what happens.

Good news in last 3 days libido has come back and is as strong as ever and is pretty scary, Semen volume is 10xs above and beyond ask my wife. Don't know why does anyone have a explaination?

So all is good except still pee like a racehorse 10 times a day and hope it doesn't effecT my kidneys.

Hope I start to respond soon in crown area which always seemed to be my problem even when vertex and front was strong. We'll see.

i was peeing alot also... i forgot about that. I go normal now. I think that is a prostate side effect but it subsides.
