For the last year i've noticed that i can see through some parts of the top of my hair, i don't think it's always been that thin, what do you think?

Also i don't think i have a receding hairline at all yet, and i have 2 hair swirls so it looks even more thin in that part of the head.

I appreciate your opinions. Thanks!

Looks like just fine straight dark hair, showing high contrast against a light coloured scalp, especially in places where hair changes direction. You will see it in children and women with similar hair attributes. It is normal.

any balding in your family?

Okay thanks for the feedback, hope you are right.

My father is 56 and only now is going a little thin, one of my grandparents did go bold pretty young, and the other didn't but had a receding hairline.

You’re welcome. If your father is only going a little thin at 56, it’s more likely he is simply losing density with age. I doubt he’ll be bald, ever. This is obviously good news for you. However balding can come down your mother’s side also, so there is always risk - but at the moment your hair looks good, very normal.

If your hair starts to deteriorate, see a derm or hair loss transplant specialist for a professional opinion. There are many treatments available should you need them in the future
