I started losing my hair about 2 years ago and it has progressed so that I only have a few shorter hairs in the front when growing it long. The hairline seems to still be there though. It seems a lot thinner on the top all around but it is still very thick on the sides. Can someone help me figure out what type of hair loss this is?

Frontal thinning, maybe diffuse thinning. Get on finasteride asap and minoxidil. The thinning is quite advanced at the front, finasteride and minoxidil alone may not be enough, you may need a hair transplant to fill it in, but give it a year or two on finasteride and minoxidil, you might be happy enough with the results, everyone responds differently

+1, also if you haven't done so already schedule yourself an appointment with a qualified doctor. All the best.
