Dense NW2. How's your family history? Check out family pictures for any possible patterns if you haven't already
My father is a thick norwood 2 and so is my maternal grandfather but my maternal grandmothers side of the family all had balding males so that's where the scare comes from..

I get you complely man, men in my paternal family are all NW1s till the grave, but men in my maternal family tend to go bald in their mid-late 30s or their 40s. Getting on 1 mg finasteride thrice a week at least for hair loss prevention would be useful, your hair seems dense and good so far so preventing any further would be the main objective.

It is probably not as effective as taking 1 mg everyday or 1 mg from Monday to Friday, but I don't think there's a huge loss of effectiveness. There are studies that show that even taking 0.25 everyday gives people around 40% of the effectiveness of the 1 mg per day dosage. If you are avoiding finasteride because you are afraid of long term side effects, which are very rare anyway, I'd suggest getting started with a smaller dosage and see how things progress from there. Way too many people start with the full Merck recommended dose and end up with side effects due to the Nocebo Effect or too much worrying.
