Hey,
Just realized that Walmart (and target) sells spironolactone for $4. the problem is that this price is for the 25 mg pill only. I have been interested in making my own topical spironolactone, but most of the recipes call for use of ~10 tabs of the 100 mg tabs. I was wondering if anyone has tried this with the 25 mg tabs since they are now so cheap and just used 4X the number of tabs so that the dosage is correct. Did not know if these tabs have more filler, hence more problems dissolving the ground up tablets in the recipe or not. $4 for 30 25 mg tabs (750 mg total) is pretty good deal. the other problem is that you would need 40 tabs to have the total 1000 mg that is usually in the formulas.
Just curious if anyone has tried this, or if it is just too much filler. Also, I have read some posts discussing filtering out the filler with either a coffee filter or dissolving in everclear and removing the liquid (with the dissolved spironolactone), and leaving the filler behind. If I do this, how much everclear do I use. If I want to add this to a cream, do I need to then let the alcohol evaporate before adding to a cream?
