Hi everybody,

As the title mentions, I'm now approaching the 1 year mark for the use of finasteride. For the first 4 months I initially only took 0.5g every other day, I then escalated to 0.5 every day and then 1g a day to see if there would be any sides - which was only a small hit on my libido.

As a summary of my hair situation - I noticed 2 years my hair was thinning in density as well as loss in the shower despite still having a thick set. As my hair grew wispy, I really wanted to regain the thickness so before finasteride - I went overboard on the non-medical plays; derma-rolling, coconut oil, scalp massages, Saw Palmetto. No luck. I also undertook several blood tests (also as a precaution before taking finasteride to see my test levels) - but only a vit D deficiency.

During my finasteride journey, the first benefit is teh mental health in that I know I'm undertaking practical steps forward. As for my hair, I can't really say how the progress has been - please feel free to judge for yourselves. Perhaps I've halted some loss - however I still see some shedding once I shampoo and no thickening really.

Given the progress (or lack of...) and now hitting the one year mark - I was considering taking minoxidol to supplement and encourage some regrowth. Aim to continue taking finasteride (as well as my other procedures; derma and massage primarily)

Any advice based on the pics below?

Thanks for responding sir - appreciate the solid advice you gave before.

Would you recommend minoxidil? Or anything else to promote regrowth?

Always a plus, but if you dont plan on using it consistently for a long term - don’t bother.
