I remember reading a few dutasteride users who stated that at the three month mark their hair was sh1t, this after initial thickening. Well, its seems as this is the case with me. I'm curious to know how things went after the three month mark. thanks

What you mean for sh1t hair?
You mean you are thicker but thinner?
I'm at the second month, terrible shedding.

I mean thinner overall. i felt as though things had thickened up a bit after the first month and a half to two months.

Are you a fresh starter with hairloss treatment or did you switch from finasteride to Avodart?

I am also switching from propecia to dutasteride, just started two weeks ago.
Are you taking one Avodart per day? Did you have shedding when you started finasteride? I
heard that the shedding from Avodart shouldnt be too bad for those who switch from finasteride to dutasteride... :?

No shedding when I started finasteride many years ago. Only improvements over time.
Tomorrow I will visit a very good dermathologist. I will hear what he'll say then I'll decide what to do.
I'm not happy at all with dutasteride at the moment. It's a week I've added finasteride/morning to dutasteride/night and shedding is suddenly lowered to quasi normal levels.

For what I can say, if you are ok with finasteride don't switch to dutasteride. Visit a good dermathologist and try with topical antiandrogens/minoxidil, instead.

Yeha I am noticing the same thing. It's as if the Dutasteride has made my existing hair thicker without any new growth, so now it's just kind of weird?

I have been using Dutasteride for a couple of months, inconsistently, along with Rogaine on and off.

Going to go with 0.5mg - 1mg Dutasteride daily along with Rogaine 5% twice a day, religiously, and see how that works out in a couple of months.

Yeah, that seems to be a general feature of 5a-reductase inhibitors, compared to minoxidil. Vera Price noted in a recent study that finasteride (and undoubtedly dutasteride) has a relatively greater effect on hairweight, as opposed to haircounts, compared to minoxidil.

I've gotta remember to pick up some milk 2% at the grocery store later...

Today I passed the 2nd month mark. In these 2 months I've shedded like crazy.
I went to the dermathologist last week and he said I'm experiencing a seasonal shedding and prescribed me a mix of topical antiandrogens and a light corticosteroid.
I must say that shedding senbibly lowered in these days, althought it's still too high compared to what I was used to.
The best part is that today I was at the barber shop who is a friend of mine and he is balding too and he asked me if I were doing something with my hairs because he noticed that the quality is remarkably improved.
He was very interested in my regimen...

Hope to regrow back what I lost in these 2 months. now.

P.S.: Sorry for my english! :)
