Hey Guys,

Been on Propecia for three years now. I have had loss of libido over the last year. its getting worse and worse. No more morning woods. I even hooked up with a hot model at a concert on the weekend and is was effort trying to blow. I am only 23 and 3 years ago I would of lasted minutes haha.

I did lower the dose from 1mg ED to 0.8mg ED. Should I lower it 0.5MG or even 0.25MG for a couple of months? If that does nothing to help ditch it and add topical flutagel or finagel?

I currently on Propecia, minoxidil and Revivogen.

Last question I saw ages ago a graph which I think Bryan posted which showed the different levels of Finasteride on Scalp DHT. Anyone got access to this?

what makes you think it is the propecia if you've been trouble free for 3 years? There might be something else at play...

You could consider dropping it for a couple of weeks to see if your problem goes away - DHT levels should return to normal within about 2 weeks and i doubt you'd experience much by way of accelerated hairloss by dropping it for 2-3 weeks.

either way, good luck.

Yea, I've got to agree, I can't see how someone could go from fine to having trouble after three years, your
hormones should have been pretty steady for a long time. But I'm not an expert by any means so maybe you
should try dropping it for a while.

Do you have problems when your by yourself? You know it's not un-heard of to have performance anxiety
(actually pretty common) ESPECIALLY when you hook up with a hottie. I know I had problems finishing
in the past (much younger past) usually when I was way out of my league which for some reason seemed to
happen way too often. :) Maybe I did not want it to end??? But, when I realized I never had problems alone
is when I was able to relax, not feel rushed and I've never had a problem since.

I also hate to break it to you, at 16 you (or at least I was) thinking about sex 25 hours a day. By twenty three
you've probably had a ton of sex and for me at least I was able to get down to thinking about it for about
24 hours a day :woot: so.. what I'm saying is, it's normal to not be as excited and quick to finish as you were
when you were younger.

Holy sh*t I thought this forum was about hair-loss??? What the f*K! LOL... I guess it's all related.

If I quiet Propecia for 2 - 3 weeks for my hormones to level out back to normal will I loose all my hair that I have gained / maintained? Or would that take a few months?

If I start a topical Finasteride Gel of Flutagel a couple of weeks before quitting do you think that will help?

Also these sides kicked in ever since I tried dutasteride for 3 weeks. I dropped dutasteride and went back to Propecia but never got back to normal.

Merck say that your hair will return to it's state within a year of quitting....

It's up to you really, if you think it's worth the risk or not. Have you tried maybe some testosterone boosting supplements to give your testosterone a kickstart? I've been eyeing up some of these guys' products since it was linked to on this site a while back, but purely from a muscle point of view (i'm a bit of a gym nut lol). They have a few products that might be able to kick your hormones back into line (like the sustain alpha for example).

if you were to quit then I would imagine a topical finasteride would help a great deal in stopping any deterioration in the meantime. Thing is though even small amounts of systemic finasteride inhibits much the same amount of DHT, so it probably wouldn't take much systemic absoption to undo the whole point of quitting in the first place. I have no idea of the absorption characteristics of finasteride gel or the like, so that's just conjecture on my part but thought it was worth pointing out.

I am going to on 0.8MG of Finasteride spread over 3 days. Should work out to about 0.3MG a day.

Because there will be a couple of days between each dose will hopefully lower DHT a small percent.

Almost all men have a loss in me (libido) at least at one point in their life even before 30. Most men has more than one period.
Finasteride or not, it would only be wierd if you never ever experienced even a slight decrease somewhere between 20-30.

Just my 0.02$.

It is fine to take a lower dose of the finasteride but you need to keep it ever day, try adding in Magnesium Glycinate @ 1-2grams per day and Zinc Methione @ 30mg every other day.
