4 months in on finasteride. No noticeable sides, except ...

I recently started my fourth month of Propecia and think I notice some change around the nipples. I think there's actually less fat around the pecs than a few months ago but the immediate area surrounding the nipples seem a little more perky/rounded. I've heard that if I'm not feeling any lumps or pain then there's probably nothing to worry about, but I'd say it definitely looks more feminine than before. I hope it's not gyno; how unlucky that I would be one of the supposed few who develop this! Whatever the case, if the situation improves, can be reversed without stopping the meds, or doesn't get any worse, I may be okay with it.

For those who have noticed a similar situation whilst taking finasteride, how was your experience? When did it start occurring? Did it get worse or better, and what solutions did you try if any?

Recent blood test shows normal hormone levels. Testosterone significantly higher than pre-finasteride and actually at ideal levels now. Estrogen also within range though I do not have a pre-finasteride record to compare it with.

Nipple sensitivity only lasted a few days and since then I haven't noticed any significant changes except that now perhaps the tissue under the skin feels slightly harder than before.

The doctor I spoke with (same clinic as GP) said that since the cause is 'known' they wouldn't consider me for an ultrasound, although I said that I also wanted to determine whether it was pseudo-gyno (increase in adipose fat) or gyno (increase in gland tissue). She also suggested that if I cease finasteride then it might return to normal.

Should I try another Doctor to try to get an ultrasound referral? Any other recommendations?

Did the doctor tell you to quit finasteride? Did you quit finasteride?
