MPBWarrior said:I don´t get it, what are you trying to say? we all know DHT is essential in developing male genitalia and the like during puberty and teenage years but that´s why it´s an over 18 drug. I don´t think there´s much need for it when you´re an adult as you did when you were younger. Do you think it´s necessary to continue with DHT levels as high as you needed when you were younger?
MPBWarrior said:There´s no doubt it´s going to alter your other hormone levels, especially testosterone and oestrogen! However, you will still have more than 30% of your normal DHT levels in your system, which is why i wouldn´t recomment dutasteride, which pretty much stops DHT circulation. it´s matter of choice really. a matter of seeing how much hair loss is affecting you. it seems the tests show that propecia doesn´t alter testosterone and oestrogen levels to make it dangerous for u to take the drug. of course, some people can have side effects, but i think if u can either tolerate those sides or in most cases, not have sides at all, the benefits of the drug far outweigh the negative. lastly, there are some men who are born with no 5ar so as far as i understand it, have no DHT. SOMEONE PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I´M WRONG ON THESE PEOPLE AS I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS CONDITION! and they seem to live ok, apart from growing up with reduced prostates.

I guess we're doomed to have people constantly referring to "system" (blood serum?) levels of DHT, rather than the degree of inhibition of the individual 5a-reductase enzymes.

{SIGH}

They are deficient only in the the type 2 form of 5a-reductase. They have normal levels of the type 1 enzyme, so they do have DHT generated by that one.
