I have been on Saw Palmetto for about 6 months now as I have mild acne and my hair has been starting to thin for the last year or so.
I understand Saw Palmetto Inhibits 5 alpha reductase , both types I and II.

I am going to start taking Finasteride 1.25 mg a day and wondered if it inhibits both types or just one?

After a search I could not find this information.
If it inhibits both I suppose I could stop taking the Saw Palmetto?

Propecia only inhibits Type 2 5AR. It's all over the internet.

You need finasteride, but stick with the saw palmetto if you want, unless everyone here is on saw palmetto and are just playing with my fragile mind!

Has the Saw p helped at all? I've been on it 2 months, I went through a major shed but in the last week I have noticed hardly any hairs falling out.
