5 months 20 days dutasteride- Weird sudden hair loss

Hi guys, as some of you might be aware I am keeping progress reports on this section of the forum.

Over the last 5 months Ive had slow loss with the use of dutasteride, as propecia slowly begna to wear off during three years and thinning was re-appearing.

I would like to share a nasty experience I have had recently. Over the last two weeks I noticed very little hair loss, So I thought its working-finally. However over the last 3 days I noticed an increase in hair loss and today I had a huge shed . I dont know exactly what this means and why its fluctuating but I counted 70+ hairs, when usually there are 20-30.

I feel really down. I did have a double helping off fish today, do you think this could have caused it? It was a really bad experenice; literally, the hairs were falling into my hand when iI ran my hands through my scalp!

Please help. And as I have 7-8 days before my dutasteride finishes, should I quit it?

I take:

Night: Xandrox 12.5 lotion

Morning Xandrox 5%, dutasteride 1 plll a day

Was hoping to try the spironolactone topical again, even though the stench caused me some problems before.

True, but if he usually spots 20 - 30 in a day then counting 70+ suggests either a shed or extreme vigilance on his part.

...And as I have 7-8 days before my dutasteride finishes, should I quit it?

You wrote this a week ago and so hopefully you haven't already given up on dutasteride, not after a mere six months. In fact a sudden burst of shedding after a fallow period sounds eerily familiar to me, I'm (almost) sure I recall something similar towards the end of my main (3-month-long) shed.
