2016-2021
Red - Green

Same guy, same hat, same angles, different hair.

Losing all hope boys and girls. Tried finasteride for over a year from 2016-2017 and my hair loss slowed down. Got back on it about a year ago (2020) but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything; hair has gotten worse, if anything.

Would anyone be able to rate my hair loss and/or give me advice on what to do next please?

Many thanks x

From the front it doesn't look too bad. From the side I can see some recession.

Here is the thing though, the progress you made 2016 to 2017 is basically gone after taking 3 years off on finasteride so that period of time was basically for nothing. So what you have now is basically what you would have had you never did treatment. And given you are 26 at norwood 2 that should indicate it isn't aggressive. I do see some temple recession from the sides but over a 4-5 year period that isn't much

So the question now is, what is your family history of balding? What is the norwood level of your father, mother's father, father's father, uncles, brothers, etc? If there isn't any advanced balding in your family tree then it might just stop there.

Actually, after comparing and looking a little closer I can still see your older hairline but there is a little thinning. That's pretty good when you compare 2016 to 2021.

You said you were on finasteride again for 1 year but still losing ground. I would argue that what you are trying to save is very difficult to save with finasteride alone. The hairline is the most dht sensitive and if you are really hellbent on regrowing those corners then you might be able to do that with rogaine foam just applied to the hair line. Should be a lot easier to apply than the vertex or crown area every night. Others suggest dermapens but idk much about how effective they are.
