Been on Finasteride & Minoxidil for 6 months with no results so now i'm going to shave it all off

30 year old asian soon to be 31, first noticed a small bald patch when i was 25 but it was only when i turned 30 that it became severe. So i've been on treatment for 6 months now and I've grown my hair out but my hair is still see through and it's still just as thin as it was before i started.

It's been really getting me down these last 6 months and with no results from treatment it's time for a change and it's time liberate myself!

Stay posted for the head shaving pics and video!

Are you trolling? that amazing progress for only 6 months. Stick with a year and it should be even better.

Not trolling it's still just as thin as it was before all i've done is grow it out, if i were to cut it back to the length in the first pic it would be exactly the same. Trust me i've been looking at it every day for the last 6 months and it's been really getting me down so I have to do something about it now.

Not a permanent fix but you should definitely try hair fibres, would work well with your current hair.

Thanks I have tried fibers before but i feel it looks un natural and for me anyway it's not sustainable to keep doing it everyday. It all depends on how much a person likes their hair and to what extent their willing to go.

I personally hate my hair lol

My pattern is very similar to yours. It sucks being asian too since ya'll have a much lower rate of the male pattern. Try adding in derma stamping, it really did the trick for me. Also a tip, instead of a full shave try a 3 guard and hair fibers. If you're interested I have more tips too, look at my most recent thread. My pattern is very similar to yours.

I sympathize with your situation, especially when the results do not match up your expectation. Still, judging on the photos, even with the grown-out hair differences, you seemed to have some response to the drug. Perhaps it might be good to continue on for another 6 months before deciding. Even in a good responder, the drug might only work enough to give you an illusion of good coverage but will not likely get back all you had before. I agree that it is a very stressful period waiting for the results.

Dude those are great results. If anything you are maintaining.

6 months is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Finasteride is a lifelong commitment. Most people maintain for decades.

I ended up buzzing it down to a 1 guard. Feel great and i pleasantly love my new look. I tried fibers before but it's just too much work so i just buzzed it and i love it! My confidence is back.

Finasteride and Minoxidil are for those men who still love their hair, I on the other hated my hair so for me it was easy to get rid of. You gotta ask yourself "how much do i love my hair?" If you don't like your hair then simples get rid of it.

so wait, you are no longer on finasteride+minoxidil? Why did you stop?! You are 3-4 (maybe 5) months away from having a full head of hair -- your hairline seems to be significantly lower as well. Most people would kill for your results, you responded really well.
