Not just that, but if the technology works (the "product" is good), it shouldn't matter who the distributor is. My understanding is that they are trying to automate the cell cultivation process and all the logistics for the large-scale demand that is expected when HM reaches the market. So hopefully HM will work regardless of where you go to get it.

It is also my understanding that Bosley is well poised to be one of the distributors of HM simply because they already have a place in the hair loss market.

It's just all of the butcher stories we've heard about Bosley that makes us question if we should get it from Aderans.

Surely then big names like Armani, Rahal et al would want to get a slice of the action too, and I would have thought they had the finances to do so.

I know. Well, I have heard some of the stories. I have NO idea what it must be like to be the victim of an hair transplant gone wrong. But hopefully the HM procedure will be more straightforward, less invasive, and it won't even be possible to "butcher" somebody with the injections.

All speculative until we receive yet another progress report from Intercytex... next year? The next?

They did say they would release Phase II data in 2008, just not sure when...

this is really good news but im still skeptical about things i hear on the news. I hope you guys have more info that could prove me wrong but i just feel like not enough was said about it and how its been going for me really beleive its coming soon and will work well enough to cure baldness.

I don't think that guy's word can really be taken as gospel. Number one, he isn't a scientist working on the treatment, number two, he's just a bosley salesman trying to drum up business and interest in his company, number three, that whole segment seemed tacked on to the end of the TV show like filler "sh*t, we're short by 5 minutes, just get some guy to talk about HM for that time." and number four "a few years" is hardly a quotable timeframe. How long is a few years? 3? 13? 33?

Personally, I wouldn't get your hopes up for HM, there's so many things that could possibly go wrong with it. Don't wait for it, get on with your life and if it comes, it comes.

are they taking the cells and moving them or are they actually making more cells? the reason i ask is because im curious how much more u have to spare if it doesnt work out the way you hoped?

I would say in 10 yrs, there will be a better "fix" for hair loss.

Where is all this 10 years coming from? I mean, the only info we can go off is what the people in the know are saying and they are saying "a few years" and "by the end of this decade" which again is a few years, a few is generally accepted as 3.

Well it depends on what your target is. I think a lot of the people who say 10 years are saying that is when it will be available and a good solution. HM already exists (unless Interctex is blatantly lying to us), the question now is how long it will take to be perfected. While intercytex says that it will be available no earlier than 2010, they have also suggested that there will be subsequent improvements and therefore possibly a 2nd and 3rd phase of commmerical release. So really, a 10 year forecast for perfected HM is incompatible with Intercytex's statements. Every new tech. development takes time to evolve. That doesn't mean that HM won't be a great product in 2012 (if it comes out then), but it sounds like it will still be a work in progress.

I still think 2010 is more realistic in the UK, but 2012 not in Britain but for the US. Maybe a better version in 2012 comes out. We won't really know until Phase II data is given out to us.
