A little advice on these sides please

Hi I'm a new poster here and wanted to ask about a few unusual changes ive noticed during my first 2 weeks on propecia.

Just to clarify I've managed to obtain a version called nopecia from Egypt, I assume it's the same drug although I am a little uneasy taking it after reading so many bad comments here and other places.

Right my first 2 weeks I've noticed a massive increase in sex drive, orgasms are really intense and I've had a little pain in my left testicle but in more of a tense way, masturbating or sex seems to ease it...are these sides something to be concerned about?are they normal for a new propecia user?

Any help would be appreciated.

It happens to some people. If you don't mind it then stay on the drug, if not maybe you should consider coming off. I am sure things will balance out eventually.

It boosted my sex drive initially, and yet years down the line i am impotent.

Thanks for the reply Joe, even though I have only been on finasteride for 2 weeks I have decided after reading these forums to come off the drug no matter how small the risk, its too much of a risk just to keep my hair which I see as a luxury more than a necessityl. I am gonna stick with minoxidil and nizoral routine and see if that improves matters.

In answer to your question you sent me in pm I don't live in Egypt so sadly I can't help you, I just visited there recently and got some finasteride whilst I was there.

Honestly I would have stayed on it if I were you. If you see an INCREASE in sex drive, chances are you will not see any negative side effects. A lot of people here have reported positive side effects from finasteride, rather than negative.

Hey, the EXACT same thing happened to me when I started finasteride. I got super freakin horny for a few weeks (like, moreso than I've ever been in my entire life), and also got a bit of ball-ache.

Personally, the ball-scared the sh*t out of me, so I cut down to .5mg dose a day. Ball ache went away after a bit, and in retrospect I'm 100% sure that it would have gone away on its own. I upped my dose to 1.25mg a day back in May, and the ball ache came back for about a month or so...then went away.

That's really the only side-effect that I've suffered from finasteride....and I don't even know if I'd consider it a side-effect :p

Currently in week two of my second stint in finasteride. Did it for a couple months back in 06 and quit due to flat out lack of discipline. So far, I am responding well with no noticeable sides.

Ball ache seems to be a very standard, initial but temporary side, I wouldn't quit just because of that, you may get on fine with finasteride.

It only becomes a problem if that ball ache translates into weak erections and reduced libido and/or other mental sides like lack of concentration and depression... otherwise, you should really stick with it because a minoxidil and nizoral regimen will only take you so far and you still lose ground in the long run.
