A really good article on hair loss

I just came across this article, it seems like its a bit old, but its very informative! While there is a bodybuilding/steriod slant, for the most part he talks about how DHT is just a contributing factor, and how anti-inflamitories play a key role in hair growth.

A couple noteables, he reccomends taking 1.25mg finasteride/day AND 5mg every 5-7 days! Thats quite a bit. He also talks about RU 58841, and makes it sound pretty damned good. He also gives an example regimen of finasteride/Min/nizoral and Folligen.

Here you go!

All in all, its a very good article, definitely one to bookmark!

that seems like a promotional tool to sell more of that stuff when it comes outa lot of people do things like that to sell their product.. even by hiring people to praise it. until i see research and success stories, i'd think of considering it

The article, although interesting and a decent summary of some of the information you'll find elsewhere on this site, is based a lot on personal experience and no scientific backing. In addition, the article is copyrighted from 1996, a year before FDA approval of 1 mg finasteride for the treatment of hair loss. Thus the advice of taking 1.25 mg portions daily and 5 mg proportions in fixed intervals came before the release of the 2 year Propecia study. In addition, this advice comes from the personal experience of a personal trainer, advice that should probably taken with a grain of salt.

True, but the point made, that inflamation / irritation is an overlooked factor in male pattern baldness, sounds spot on. I think I'm going to add Emu Oil to my regimen to ensure a calm scalp.

So far, I've found T/Gel to be great for the inflammation. After two or so weeks of using Nizoral and T/Sal to no effect, I switched to T/Gel last week and have yet to experience any scalp irritations.

Yes, that's an oldie but a goodie. RichLocks was supposed to be getting his hands on some RU, I wonder how that panned out for him.

Will writes for MuscleMag International and that article is a little dated. Still some pretty good info in the sense that it gives some hope and isnt all gloom and doom. Thats exactly more of what we need to hear.
