I believe its an effective method of deviding the pills though I havent tried it myself.

Rather than dividing the powder, you crush the whole pill, dissolve it thoroughly in a couple of of drops of something (I think ethanol was recommended) and then carefully divide the solution equally onto some tabs of rice paper. If you get the technique right you can get very accurate dosages. BUT please be aware this is going from my memory and I don't want you to end up spoiling your finasteride or ill from my misguided instructions :wink: so I'll try and find the link where I read this.

Its also worth considering that some people belive finasteride reacts to air and becomes less effective as it does so its probably a good idea to do this only one or two pills at a time rather than in big batches

Re: Crushing proscar

Don't overthink this. Eyeball as best you can and don't fret about it. Doesn't matter if you get .92 mg one day and 1.14 mg the next. Seriously, you can mark this concern off your list.

I'm having problems splitting my proscar into small enough yet even pieces.

How about I just crush each pill, and then divide it up after its crushed ...

Is there any drawback to that?

Yeah its a good point, DHT levels take several days after stopping finasteride to return to normal so as long as you average out at the right dose its not going to make a difference

its not quite as I remember, dissolve the powder in ether, rather than putting it on rice paper just keep the solution and take a measured dose each day, a pipette will help measure dosage, e.g. dissolve in 10 drops of ether and take 2 drops a day
