Hi guys,

I am risking embarassment and I am posting my pics so I can keep track of progress and also get some feedback when possible. Hopefully I coulple of months from now I will have felt some success. I am 23 years old and male pattern baldness runs in my family. Towards the end of January I started on 1 mg of propecia and I am also trying to eat right... thats kinda all for now. I have been shedding a lot since I started, I wouldnt say its become more noticeable other than maybe all my hair looks a lil thinner to me.

I cut my sides at a zero shave every two weeks and the top I keep at a 3. I figure shorter hair means less time obsessing over it for now. But the obvious is that with shorter hair sometimes it looks more bald. My main problem is the crown, if I let my hair grow in the front I'd be fine there but the crown would be more visable since my hair is black.

The pics I am posting of of a month after I started propecia and current, which is starting my 3rd month...

Maybe its wishful thinking but I think it looks a little better now? LOL *crosses fingers and grasps on to any lil hope*

I would continue taking the treatment for at least six months. Even then you may not really see a difference. But you should do.

Then continue for the full year and evaluate then. It looks like you could respond quite well. I would also use Nizoral 3 x per week. This will help thicken the hair and also block some DHT and ease any irritation in the scap....

good luck

If the hair is the same length, then I can say YES, I definitely see some regrowth already at month 3. You could be a very good responder to finasteride. Keep it up and keep posting pics!

Your hairloss is IDENTICAL to mine (apart from my hair being dark blonde). The only difference is that I let if go quite far before i started doing anything so I was more bald than you when i started my regimen. I started out with minoxidil and been on that for 4 months with very good results (see my pics in this forum somewhere). I've ordered some finasteride which should arrive soon.

Speaking of my finasteride, i've ordere from http://www.drugs-one.com and it's been about 16 days now.......still waiting :(

nice to finally see some photos of someone without a full head of hair for a change! Dude, i have a very similar pattern as you, but my back is better and my front isnt as good. I've responded to the point where not baldin people wouldnt think I have a problem, so I hope you do too. It looks as if youre already starting.
AS an aside, you seem dark skinned, and you look like you could pull off the shaved head look. Best of luck!

HOw much does diet effect hairloss?

Ive been eating horribly this semester, and it wasnt till this semester that i even notivced i was balding. If the loss was cause by not eating enoug and eating pure crap, which i hate to admit i have been. If i take my vitamins and eat my greens will my hair return like my neighboors garden in the spring?
