I was just thinking back to when my hairloss really kicked in. I was very active in sports training etc. After receiving a lot of negative jibes and insults about my hairloss I quit : Swimming and athletics because I couldn’t really cover up the hairloss.

I kept on with the gym because I could wear a cap to training. I basically quit everything activity that I couldn’t wear a cap to compete/ train.

My job was sweet cos I work outside this making a cap part of the uniform I was comfortable with work accept for promotion to managing level hats are not allowed so promotions were not something I could go for even though I was a model worker..

Dating became a nightmare nightclubs don’t allow hats but pubs I could attend with cap on.

Just wondering if you guys have quit doing things you really liked doing just because you’re hairloss made you give up??

Some people work in lowly paid jobs even though they have a uni degree because of hairloss.

Hairloss can change the way you live your life and that my friends pisses me off.

When you have been bullied for something out of your control it’s a terrible feeling, that most guys on here know what im talking about

Dating is the most difficult activity to continue on with hairloss because the b****s are so picky with what they want.

What about everyone else? Have you quit many things due to this disease

That’s one activity one would never quit due to hairloss. In fact the activity increases with hairloss. Lol

Swimming. I'll go in the ocean occasionally when I'm at the beach, but never dip my head under since I never go outside without lots of concealer in my hair.

Omg. - where to even start?

First of all jobs. Any job I can't wear a hat at is a job I can't work at sadly. I have way to much OCD to even get through the day at home without a hat , let alone a job. I need a job I can have a hat.

Second is obviously swimming , beaches , anything related to water

Some other activities I would not be comfortable partaking in-

Roller coaster

Fancy dinner / wedding -- this is a tough one. This is bound to come up at some point but I can't stand the thought of someone taking a picture of me ( pictures tend to happen at these places). God what it would feel like to be a handsome guy in a suit with nice thick short hair instead of some weird combover diffuse style. They must actually feel attractive when they put on a suit.

I'm probly missing lots of things if I think of it I will post them. These are just some of the first things to come to mind , not to mention the mental implications of hairloss such as just refusing to go out because you feel bad about hairloss.

I've delayed going back to college and upgrading education because of this shitty fucken disease. I keep being told "its never too late"...yeah go tell that to a balding man in a classroom full of fullheads.

Same with the swimming.

My hair looks decent when styled - when wet it looks almost norwood 4.

I live in south east asia where swimming pool days and beach days are the norm - I avoid them like the plague.

When I do shave it all off it may be one of the small benefits to having no hair.

Doctor profession I want to add for probable baldies.

The exposure to meet new people is immensely high..

I am meeting/being close to about 500 to 1000 people everyday.
maybe even more.

In corporate jobs..such problems of meeting new people do not arise..everyone knows your age and your baldness.

Opd is nightmare.More than 150 patients in 4 hours plus no of relatives accompanying them
I don't even want to think that.

Every patient comes with 2 or 3/4 relatives..and all want to talk with us.

I shaved it all off a year and a half ago and looked decent with no hair and was still able to date.

On here the guys said I was one of the 5% who look decent with no hair.

I grew it back (I'm norwood 3 diffuse) because I preferred having hair even though I need toppik to look good.

I felt 31 was a little too young to be bald and that i'd like to keep hair on my head for the next few years.

I disagree. Dude is balding. looked good bald and regrew his hair? Why? I WISH I had the balls to finally shave it off. And, if I looked GOOD bald (which I know I won't)... i would never, ever regrow this rats nest.

Okay mate.

you know better than most how terribly I cope with losing my hair, if I shaved and thought I looked good, would you suggest I regrow it and try to hang on?

I still don't understand why you don't try?

I did it when I had two weeks off work - so I knew if I hated it I would at least have stubble when I came back.

As for me: I decided to grow it back because I just prefer having hair. I know that unless there is a cure or I get a hair transplant then I will be bald within the next 5 years - either way I will be forced to shave by my mid 30s. That's a long life without hair so I decided to enjoy my last few years with hair.
