I'm finding myself inspired by some of the crazy success stories on here. I've decided to add to my stack in an effort to see what I can do to induce more growth and possibly reach NW1 land (currently NW2, restored from thinning NW2.5). Although I consider my current situation quite decent and a huge relief compared to what it was, I can't help thinking there may a shot at even further improvement when I see some of the spectacular levels of regrowth some on here have achieved through very aggressive regimens.
The common variables I've notice in the most extreme of the success stories on here:
1. POTENT anti-androgens
2. Increased minoxidil absorption
At the moment finasteride seems to be comfortably keeping me where I'm at. I don't see myself ever taking the plunge with drugs transvestites use, and dutasteride is likely the most extreme I may ever go anti-androgen wise if I begin losing ground again, although if I don't get much more improvement, I may consider adding it after I hit the year mark on finasteride. For the moment though, I'm going to wait on upping my anti-androgen game, and just stick with finasteride
While dermarolling seems to be the most common absorption improver around here, I personally am a bit uncomfortable with the method. I don't feel entirely comfortable breaking the skin on my scalp using a needle, with only youtube videos to guide me. As an alternative, I have decided to try tretinoin, as I have some tubes sitting around, and I am reading of people having much improved minoxidil success while adding it. I plan to start by applying it on my temples/hairline area every other night, about 20 minutes before I apply minoxidil
