Hello all, I am excited to finally be a member of hairloss talk. I just turned 25 and have been losing my over the last 3 years. My grandfather on my mom's side was bald and my dad has a bald spot but didn't start balding till his late thirty's. It is starting to become noticeable on my vertex and temples. I have never been a hairy person. I still cannot grow a full beard. My facial hair is very patchy and barely grows. I went to a doctor and he said it was just male pattern baldness. I started using generic propecia in May 06 and in August and September I thought I was seeing results, but lately it seems my hair has been falling out at an incredible rate everywhere on top. Its starting to freak me out a little. I'm not sure if the finasteride is doing anything anymore or possibly making it worse. I need to start taking this more seriously. I am up for any suggestions. Also does anyone recomend a good thickenning shampoo? I look forward to talking to you all and getting some hair back!

Welcome to the board, :D persist with your regimen and maybe introduce Minoxidil to it if things are getting unbearable. It appears that many people are experiencing problems at the 16- 24 month period.

Hey adgates, stick with the finasteride, there is no way that it will make your hair worse. I highly doubt that it already stopped working. I guess your lost hair is just a regular male pattern baldness shed and you are already doing the best you can about it. Soon your hair will look better.

Do you all hear anything negative about the rogaine foam? Is it better or worse than regular rogaine? Also, any recommendations for a shampoo?

Rogain foam is easier to apply since it dries much faster than regular Rogain. As Shampoo I recommend Nizoral and a Baby Shampoo.
