Afraid of Propecia's Side Effects... Receding Hairline Help?

Hi, I'm new here. I started taking Propecia (1mg) yesterday morning, so I've only taken it twice. But I didn't really read too much about the side effects until I found this site.... and now I'm terrified to keep taking it. I know some people have had success with it, but with my luck, I probably wouldn't.

I'm very concerned about the sexual side effects of Propecia. I'm not going to risk being permanently impotent just to keep my hair. I started noticing my hairline receding last fall (I'm 23; my dad has a full head of hair at 43, but my grandpas on both sides started balding in their 20s), even though everyone else thinks I'm crazy and imagining the hair loss.

My question is: for those of you who deal with receding hairlines, did anything else help stop hairloss or grow back hair, besides Propecia?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You are probably the tenth guy i've seen in the last couple weeks in this situation.

Stop reading about side effects. You are scaring yourself for no good reason.

If you think you have side effects, go talk to your doctor. Side effects are very unlikely.

PS:
Mens Rea, you said:

Most people don't read all these "horror" stories you speak off until they put two and two together and realise why they have ED etc, that's the actual reality.

lol, just kidding, buddy :p

Wuffer, you knew id grace this thread :p

Brandon - it's simple. Be aware there is risks associated, get bloods taken BEFORE you start and cease if you feel the sides.

Personally i wouldn't advocate the drug whatsoever i've still got sexual sides a year after i've stopped as have a few guys here. Most people won't have this though.

It's a personal decision you've got to make mate.
