Now I’m scared I’ll get sides or increased risk of getting prostate/male breast cancer. What are the odds? And why some people get sides and others don’t? It’s still the same process for all of us, isn’t it?

Im also deciding if its worth or not,im too scared of sides, especially risk of dementia and low levels of allopregnolone. But im also nw5 so im maybe far too gone,so my main Focus is transplant, and maybe minoxidil on top of that. You said that you already took the first pill,so be calm, dont overthinking or panicking,if you get sides then stop,Listen your body.My friend is on Propecia now for like 2 years,he has amazing results(diffuse thinner) and he has no sides for now.

You know side effects are very rare right? Millions of men have been on proscar long before it was approved for hair loss. Most side effects are psychological

Some are psychological, but I don’t think gynecomastia or male breast cancer are psychological anymore.

It's a myth.

"Initial study findings suggested there may be a link between use of the drug and a more lethal form of prostate cancer, but long-term follow-up shows that is not true."

"What we can now say is that finasteride not only significantly reduces a man's risk of prostate cancer, it is safe to use based on very long-term follow-up in our study,"
Beware of fear mongers, they're mad because they got sides and don't care about your hair.

Gyno is caused by high estrogen. Do you have excess body fat? Are you eating foods that are processed? Those 2 things will cause you more problems than finasteride or dutasteride

I always think about doing it but if you are really looking for a thrill... google “Post Finasteride Sydrome Foundation”

STOP STRESSING ABOUT SIDES!! Look at any study and they all show only a small fraction of people who have sides and only a small fraction of that fraction have permenant sides! I’m convinced that the only people who have “sides” are those who LOOK for sides and blame every little dysfunction on the drug. Or (in the very very small number of those who ACTUALLY have sides) it’s the people who live unhealthy lifestyles with other co morbidities and were destined to have sides regardless of the drug and the drug just made those sides more apparent or happen faster. The Doctor who prescribed my pills said he’d been prescribing it for 9 years and only 2 people reported sides. One was an obese diabetic and the other was clinically depressed.... guys... ask yourself... would you rather be bald or have SLIGHT side effects if ANY. To me it’s not even a question! I’m not going bald before 30. Idgaf if I have slight watery c*m provided I’m not bald lol. Take the drug, exercise, eat healthh and statistically you should be FINE! Have had no problems so far and if I have they have been so small and insignificant that I haven’t noticed. PLUS in almost all people they go away after a couple months.

I forgot to add this point. Let’s say 10 million people take the drug and the rate for sides is 3% that means that 300000 people will have sides. THESE are the people who complain and flood the internet with negativity. NOT The people who respond welll. They just move on with there lives!

Yes, and you're even excluding those experiencing placebo.

Plus the millions of men that have been taking proscar 5 mg. Since its release in 1992 and the other millions taking the evil avodart for prostate health. Lol. Pretty funny all of these reports are coming from the mind not actual studies

Okay so this Wednesday I am on the second week of using Finasteride. So far so good, nothing worrying to report. The plan was to cut the pill in two equal halves and start with 0.5 mg, give my body some time to adjust to finasteride then move up to 1 mg. Thing is - a. I don’t have a pill cutter so I cut the pills with a knife, most of the times the pill doesn’t get split in equal halves or they crush in smaller pieces so it’s likely I get <0.5 mg dose one day and >0.5 the other day. I don’t think it’s that great, is it? b. is it alright to start 1 mg after the 2 weeks or should I give my body more time to adjust, like a month? c. is it even significantly beneficial to take 1 mg? I mean from what I’ve heard 0.5 mg does block less DHT than 1 mg but not by much.

Is it worse to start and stop or be erratic than to use no Finasteride at all? I started on Propecia .5 pill daily, I was terrified. Thought I was getting sides and switched to topical. Test and system DHT never really changed.

I sort of want to test the waters of Propecia pill again a few times a week with the topical, is that risky? Diffuse NW6 pattern, full head of hair.

All the clinical data shows side effects are rare. I'm not worried about that at all. What worries me is if it will save my hair.
