Yes you have male pattern baldness, you have a bald spot at your vertex but your hairline is great. Get on the big three and there's a good chance you'll regrow some hair on your crown and maintain the rest of your hair for years to come.

hmmm..thanks mane, i was on finasteride for a few months a couple of years back. i might be imagining it but it could have caused fatigue to me (i suffer from chronic fatigue now) and also sunken eyes. i'll consider minoxidil + nizoral. what do you say?

Perfect head of hair Fred? It's mostly very very good but you don't think that's a bald spot at his vertex? Seems a little big to be his natural crown hair whorl?

Osamaa, did finasteride cause chronic fatigue, or did you already have chronic fatigue and finasteride made it worse?

I've never heard of finasteride resulting in sunken eyes or dark rings, it's minoxidil that causes that in a small percentage of cases. Are you sure you weren't imagining this?

If you do have male pattern baldness, and I think you do, then you need some type of DHT inhibitor. Maybe you could try topical spironolactone/S5, but systemic drugs like finasteride are more effective. I think you may have been imagining the sunken eyes thing, but the fatigue is a cause for concern. I think a lot of the reported symptoms are psychosomatic though.

Have you always had that spot on your vertex? Check childhood/teenage photographs of yourself.

I've had that spot but i think it has increased in circumference...
you might be right about the sunken eyes thing...
as for the chronic fatigue, once again, i can't be sure, but the timing does match. also there's research on finasteride leading to decreased strength in erections and what-not. in any case, taking an oral med everyday just seems dangerous...

also i came across this when i was experiencing sunken eyes/tired face

Maybe is looks bigger because of flash and his super dark hair. If it hasn't progressed throughout the last two years, I doubt it will anytime soon.

yes this. that part is natually thinner than other parts of your head. not just you but most of people have less hair in that part of thier head. so it may look worse with flash than it actually is.

I know countless of people who have a big spot like that in the back, and they are not balding. Let's all be honest here, the OP does not have male pattern baldness.

Just enjoy you hair.

You can't diagnose him over the internet Fred..
OP go see a dermatologist and have a biopsy. your hair looks great now but if you have male pattern baldness better start preventing more balding sooner rather than later.
but of course it COULD be like fred said and you do not have male pattern baldness at all!

thanks a lot guys!!!

A biopsy would tell me about miniaturization of the hair I understand?

Yes it will tell you about miniaturisation of the hair follicle :)
The dermatologist can look at your hair and see miniaturised hairs, but only a biopsy can tell wether the follicles have miniaturised.
Looking at your pics you may not have male pattern baldness at all, but better be on the sure side so you can start preventing if you do have it.
I don't really think you do though, but like I said can't diagnose you from those pictures.
Good luck :)

You don't need a biopsy! Just have a specialist look at your scalp with a camera

With the hair like this at age 25 you are blessed with a beautiful life and you don't have much to worry regarding hair. The real curse if happen starts in teen years. The minor recession looks like a mature hair line.
Enjoy your life.
