hi everyone,

19yo french guy here, currently nw2

i first started to notice my hairline receiding when i was 17 and decided to get on minoxidil in september 2018, i applied it 2 times a day for abt a year but seeing that it had no effect on my hairline ( still receiding ) and the routine becoming more and more difficult to consistently follow, i decided to get on finasteride.

so i went to my gp. he was first reluctant to give a prescription but after insisted and explained to him that my hairs were really important to me, he accepted. I stayed on it for about 4 month with great results : i was maintaining and i could already see some little regrowth on the temples.

but 3 weeks ago, about 1 hour after taking my daily finasteride pill, i started having hives all over my body. as this was listed as one of the possible side effect of the drug i decided to get off it and to go see my doctor asap. The hives lasted for about 72 hour, and those were the worst 72 hours of my life : i couldn't sleep and the only thing i wanted to do was to tear my skin off.

i went to see my gp again and explained him what happened to me. He told me that this was a classic allergic reaction to drugs, and that i should never take finasteride again.

Now im 3 weeks off the drug and i started loosing 100+ hairs on a daily basis again, all the little regrowth that i had fell off.

I was considering getting on duta but the drug belonging to the same drug family as finasteride, won't i be allergic to it too? should i get on topical finasteride? ru?

what should i do to keep my hairs ?

Try natural methods which have been proven to work the same as finasteride and minoxidil.
