Here is what it looked like a few months age. http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o42/ ... 1-1-07.jpg

Now it ahs thinned a bunch more in the front. I don't know if it was from finasteride or what but it looks bad. Very easy to see the scalp and it is diffuse all the way back to the crown now but I don't have the crown circle thing happening yet and I might not for a long time if I am like my dad.
Its just a chick told me I would look bad with a buzz or shaved head and it freaked me out because I was planning on buzzing it in June on vacation so i can get a tan at the same time. Now I am considering this damn forward combover for a whil more. I don't know waht to do. I don't feel attractive at all. Should I commit to the foam twice a day?

Heres the deal. finasteride makes you shed.

Rogaine, also, makes you shed. If you start rogaine now, things WILL GET WORSE before they get better.

Sucks, but its facts.

Dont let one silly chick's opinion phase you tho. Try the buzz cut, see how it looks. Honestly the shorter it is, the harder it is to tell that its thin. (I know this from experience). You can always grow it back.

There are obvious pros and cons to rogaine. You will end up with more hair in 6+months.On the other hand, given enough time finasteride may give you acceptable results and the simpler the regimen is, the better.

Dont ever let other people tell you your no good or you will look like sh*t if you would do this or that. You are just as good as the other guy with great hair or body or face features. Do what makes you happy. You are you. You are unique. Maybe that chick won't like it but there will be 100 others that will dig it. Work on your fitness and work on your attitude. I tell you this is more important. I know that in your 20s you want to be the best you can be but life is unfair. So just keep taking bombs and if something will bother you just fire back. Don't let other people tell you what to do in life.

ps. I see you are not using anything right now so I would jump on some kind of DHT blocker to stop progression and as of regrowth think rogaine or apple poly.

Good Luck bro.

I understand the buzz it and try it thing but my hairline is in bad shape. It would be totally different if it was even partially intact but it is in bad shape. I need to take a wet shot to show the true scope of damage.

yes please take a wet shot. i thought that pic above was wet hair but it's dry, you say?

i agree that buzzed heads can look kinda weird if you don't have a real hairline left. I'd say you're a diffusing NW4A(If I remember the A pictures from the Norwood chart correctly) so I think you can still get away with buzzing it, but i might consider shaving it as well man. I would honestly shave it and see how that looks because it will blend in a lot more than even a quarter inch hair would compared to bare skin like you have in your temples which are basically gone.

you also need to look into the foam. how long have you been on finasteride and nizoral for? i don't see them doing much for you in your temples and hairline area which is your real problem although they may thicken up that frontal tuft a little bit. you really need to look into the foam as well as maybe that new Revita shampoo(nizoral with lots of other sh*t in it), as well as some copper peptides like Tricomin or Prox-n(drproctor.com)

I thought buzzing and shaving was the same thing...?
I think shaving it really tight so that there is just stubble there looks good even if the hairline is gone

i think a buzz is any haircut 1/2 inch or shorter on top. when someone says they shave it it normally means they bic'ed it, like with a razor down to the skin. some people rock a couple days of stubble and hair will grow about 1/8th of an inch every week anyway so you're back to a short buzz a week after shaving your head. i do think he should keep it at 1/8th of an inch or shorter if he's going to buzz it and not shave it down all the way regularly so what i would do is fine one of those custom sets of hair clippers that have blades going down to 1/16th or even 1/32nd of an inch. 1/32nd of an inch would be great because that's like how much hair you have 2 days after shaving your head. So he could just use that 1/32nd of an inch attachment and not worry about getting it down all the way with a real razor and having to use shaving cream etc.

My temples for the most part are pretty slick but there are alot of fine white hairs where my hairline used to be. I am almost ready to take the leap. I just wanted to give finasteride a few months before jumping in. I am at around month 2 for the finasteride. SHould I hold out a while longer before starting?
