Hey guys, since 6 month i experience a lot of hair loss and i am not sure is it telogen effluvium, male patern baldness or is my hair is shedding because pf my seborrheic dermatitis which got worse this winter.I also experience pain on my scalp my hair hurts if that is even possible.I never had a lot hair but i think my front sides are thinner now.

I also did my hair short because of seborrheic dermatitis thought it would be better

Your hairline is receding and you got diffuse thinning. Get on finasteride.

What about the side effects ? Ive read a lot and i am scared as f*** lol
finasteride is child's play. I've been on 150mg - 200mg spironolactone, 10mg Loniten, topical estrogen AND finasteride with no side effects. Don't worry about it, it's not as scary as some people make it out to be. It's all fear mongering, you will be fine.

Sorry to slightly derail the thread but Andy how is the Loniten going? Are there any studies that state this impacts your hearts health in the long-run?

@OP - I would consider taking finasteride, if I was you. You are young, however the sides are hugely overstated on the Net (shock!) and if you did experience any issues, you could simply stop taking it. I believe the official studies showed sides in <2% of users.

You need to give finasteride a minimum of 6 months to see results.

For what it's worth, I take both finasteride and dutasteride, and also use minoxidil with zero sides.

It was going great until I dropped finasteride, lost my regrowth but I still got general thickening. I'm back on finasteride now and shedding is slowly decreasing so I'm hopeful I can get back my regrowth. Moral of my story is don't ever drop finasteride, even if it doesn't seem like its working it probably is. That was true in my case at least.
I still have no side effects, I do sometimes get dark circles but I'm unsure if that's due to lack of sleep or the minoxidil as it's always been temporary. I've not had any tests to check my blood pressure or heart but Im sure they are fine, I feel exactly the same off oral minoxidil as I do on it. It's great in combination with finasteride but I'm not so sure of its effects on its own.

Thanks Andy for the info.

For me, I don't think topical minoxidil did a lot but I know others have had great success on it. Down the line, I may give Loniten a chance.
