HELLO, 21 M, Ive always had a high hairline since I was a kid. It was never straight or the traditional "Box shape". Idk why but does it look like im losing hair. The pics of my crown are out in the sun with bright light. Both sides of my parents all have fill heads of hair. Except my dad. He is Nw3 at like 55. Im a vegetarian who wats healthy for the most part. Please anyone. Does it looks like im losing hair? Should I be worried? Anything would help!!! Thank You.

Looks like your crown and hairline are thinning slightly, finasteride 1mg every day will most likely maintain your hair, see a derm.

oh ok, what about 0.25mg or 0.5? I feel like that would be enough? no?
Take 1mg everyday and if you get sides, lower the dosage. Most of the posts I see on here about finasteride not working is when they take those mini doses, 1mg everyday is recommended. I've been on it for 2 months and have had no side effects, I can't grow much facial or body hair which apparently indicates naturally low DHT and even I haven't had sides.

oh ok gotcha. I did some research and saw that body hair and amount of testosterone doent equate to body hair and facial hair, n its just a myth. So to get on finasteride, do I go to doctors and ask for prescription?

I get mine online from a registered online pharmacy, works out at about £12 a month for generic finasteride. It's hard to get a prescription in person in the UK, but if you're in the US you can probably get one.

Are you serious, looking at other peoples post on here, my hair looks so much better. Im curious are you saying that cause of my crown?
I barely have any visible hairloss either but you need to get on finasteride as early as possible because there is no guarantee that it will regrow hair but it will most likely stop more hair falling out. If you don't want to get on finastride yet, you could monitor your hair over the next 6 months and if it gets a little worse, start treatments.

Hair looks good. I wouldn’t jump on treatments if your shoes. Hairline looks in tact. Crown looks normal.

I have been on it for a little over 2 months, no side effects at all, I don't read about them. Side effects are real with any drug but I think a lot people scare themselves into imaginary side effects by reading stupid finasteride horror stories online.

Really tough to tell here, I think your crown is fine but the hairline may or may not be thinning. If you're worried and have access to a hair doctor, I would ask them to take a look. Otherwise either start finasteride or take really good pictures (these ones suck) straight on so you can compare them every month or so. If you notice more thinning or recession get on finasteride.

Nothings changed, which is a good sign that its stopping or at least slowing the hair loss, I do have some small hairs at the hairline but it's hard to tell if that's regrowth or miniaturizing hairs, I'll know for sure around the 6 month to a year mark if it's working.

No hair loss. You don’t have miniaturisation at the hairline which would be a consequence of AA. Your hairline is not thinning, your looking too closely at it. Everyone has a transition period between skin and hair which gives a feathering effect - some idiots on here mistake this as balding.

Look at the crown, the 4th pic is worrying.

I struggled big time with sides (mostly brain fog and mental issues) for years as to where I got off of it entirely and swore I would never get back on the “poison” again. Eventually, I caved and tweaked and tweaked and tweaked the dosage & frequency until I found what works for me. I only take .25mg 4 days a week rn and still have significant results from it. I think for me, the drug was staying in my system for much longer than most others, so it built up over time and that’s why I had my sides. Find what works for you if you do have sides — not everybody is built the same.

search around the threads here — there’s a chart showing the ceiling/taper of effects to-dosage, and I think it says something like .3mg has 90% efficacy compared to going fully up to 1mg…these are rough numbers and just going from memory — I just can’t look up the chart atm

I saw this too, but I think you should pick the highest dose you can tolerate. I do .5mg and if I feel good after 2 months I'll move to 1mg.
