Am I Suffering From Crown Balding Or Is This Normal?

Hi, I have been freaking out over the past 2 days because I seriously don't know if I am suffering from crown balding and I need an answer. For the record, I am 21 years old this year. I also don't get a great deal of hair fall, and neither do I see clumps of hair when I run my fingers through my hair.

Pardon the lighting issues in some of the photos.

Any answers and comments will be greatly appreciated.

Definatley balding, plenty of miniaturised hair there. But you noticed it early.

Your hair is short, under harsh light, it's coarse so there's not much of it to begin with, and you have white skin to contrast your dark hair. Your crown is going to look thin no matter what you do when it's short. Grow your hair. I can tell because the amount of scalp changes depending on what angle you took the picture. If you were balding, the thinning area would be constant.

So the spot of thinning in the crown is because of my short hair? Or are there already signs of balding and I should seek help?

Basically I don't think you're balding at all and you should stop worrying. Run your hands through it and see if the individual strands feel the same as the others. If you can't feel a difference I can say with almost 100% certainty that there is no hairloss.

My crown looks similar to that when it's short. Wait for it to grow a few inches and it should look something like this.

Thanks mate, your kind words mean alot. Just tried taking more photos so that I can look at how it's going to turn out, and I found something that weren't shown in the photos above. The hairline just stretches downwards to the right. Should I be worried?

I want you to do an experiment. Go to the bathroom mirror, and use a hand mirror to look at your crown. Tilt your head to either side, and the thin looking area should move around. I think it's just a case of lighting because none of your pics show thinness in a consistent area. Here's an example when my hair was about that length. We have about the same texture and density I think.
