Androgen receptor downregulation, does it happen?

I understand that there is an initial up regulation of androgen receptors in response to using propecia, well If I were to quit propecia after a period of time ( say 9+ months) will my androgen receptors down regulate and return to their pre-propecia levels when they recieve the huge wave of DHT that propecia was holding back or will they remain at their new levels?

I can't imagine that they wouldn't return to normal.
