Hey All, first post here.

I decided to bite the bullet and get on finasteride. I contacted an hair transplant Doctor in my area (Dr. Cole). After an online picture consultation, they told me that there is an $85 annual fee for the script. :thumbdown2:

Does this sound right?

I'm not exactly in the market for an hair transplant anyways. Should I contact a dermatologist instead? Thanks for reading.

Yeah... If that's the case, I wont complain. I noticed your profile says Atlanta. Have you had any experience with this organization?

I get 30x 5mg finasteride for $9. So that is a four month supply if you cut into 1/4s. So that is roughly $2.25 per month... which is roughly $27 per year.

really......wow! Good thing I just moved all my prescriptions there.

However even with this you have to factor in the yearly Dr. Visit to your cost. If you don't have insurance that can be very costly.

Thanks. I'm not sure why they told the script would cost $85. I wanted to talk to an hair transplant Doctor because my Doctor at the VA is pretty cluless about finasteride. I'm thinking they are wary of me because I mentioned that all I am really interested in at the moment is medication treatment.

As Cassin said in his first post of the thread more less a fee for a visit for the advice of treatment, that's what a derm probably would have charge just to give you a script for 5 min of his time.
