Another theory on the origin of baldness

The first theory being baldness as an adaptation to express maturity in a time when life expectancy was a fraction of what it is currently. This theory never sat right with me as far as an origin story is concerned. This is because it fails to explain baldness in monkeys and gorillas. There is little denying that baldness existed well before humans as we know them came about. The Masque monkeys for instance are believed to experience hairloss as a genetic mutation meant to keep out the hair that would otherwise cover their face in order to communicate through facial expressions. Far before the advent of spoken language... Perhaps this is the true origin of our condition. This genetic mutation that has persisted through our very evolution and remains with us today.

What about facial hair?. I kind of thought maybe hair loss is a thing left over from when we evolved from having a lot of hair like monkeys to less hair like modern day humans.

Oh so you want everyone to lose their beards and mustaches next, don't you... Unfortunately, it has been predicted that humans will lose almost all their hair in a few thousand years. This would not be such a big problem if the transition from one stage to the other wasn't so slow.

We are the only species that is the damn concious of our appereance and can reflect so bad on it. This is the price we get for being so damn smart...
