I will take baseline pictures the day i start taking it and will document any regrowth i receive by taking new pictures and comparing them to the baseline oneshopefully you wont get sides from oral minoxidil, post results if possible!
i'm the opposite, i regret not getting on finasteride earlier, i was on 1 mg everyday and had zero issues
I'm around 50 days clean from anti androgens now and my DHT has been gradually coming back at full force. Still having some side effects, not really even 50% recovered yet. But my libido and interest in women have definitely improved a lot, and it feels kinda good tbh, i felt like an asexual b**ch before on anti androgens and it sucked. I also feel a lot more aggressive, assertive, masculine, angry and energetic, which is something i missed dearly as i felt like a castrated dead husk on anti-androgens. My hair has gotten destroyed though, and i'm a solid NW3 now except for some miniaturized baby hairs in the NW1 area that don't make much cosmetic difference. I'm gonna hop on oral minoxidil ASAP like @DyingOfTheLight because i'm a diffuse thinner with potential for regrowth and full recovery. I also need to hit the gym and improve my diet and habits to recover even faster and finally get rid of the nightmare anti-androgens bestowed upon my poor sou
I'm in the same boat. I even reduced my dosage to 0.25mg. Feel like you can't win with this situation. Can confirm finasteride makes you feel like an empty husk of your old self. I look forward to the day when I have the guts to drop it too
i haven't done my research but i wouldn't think oral minoxidil would work long term without AA?Good luck. Start with a low dose and don't exceed 5mg (unless you really feel your body can take it and/or are desperate)
There are concerns with it possibly inhibiting collagen synthesis, but in studies those effects were only noticed at a much higher concentration. Regardless there are many accounts of people claiming a noticeable, and sometimes irreversible, increase in wrinkling.
Then there's the potential issue of LV hypertrophy — the one that personally worries me the most.
Personally, I've been on it for 3 years. I've had my heart checked thoroughly and so far no irregularities. I also don't even have the faintest of lines on my face.
In the end, just like finasteride, it's not something you take to be healthy. ( I couldn't stomach AAs myself; they gave me an odd feeling of depression, bordering on depersonalisation)
Pick your poison

yea i was on it for 2 years, it kept a few super thin spider web hairs around and thats all so i quit. that "norwood 6 at 21" thread i made was after being on it for 2 years, i quit right around the time i posted thatdid you stop?
wow i'm surprised theres a way to safetly take f*****g blood pressure medication loll. rogaine gave me palpitations and lightheadedness though, so i doubt i would be able to take it orally. i've even found studies showing rogaine f*****g up your circulatory system. but i mean, wrinkles? just the fact that its f*****g blood pressure medicine? you cant blame people for not taking itGood luck. Start with a low dose and don't exceed 5mg (unless you really feel your body can take it and/or are desperate)

EDIT: despite emphasising the side effects ( I don't want to bullshit you ) there's enough indication that it's well-tolerated in conservative dosages. In Asia it has been a less obscure/controversial option for decades in the fight against hairloss. Dr Pathomvanich for example, one of the most renowned surgeons in SEA, has written extensively on the benefits of low-dose oral minoxidil/loniten in patients with androgenic alopecia. He himself has also taken it for over a decade, so the man stand by his words. Shouldn't be hard to find his notes on it floating on the net
do you notice your face looking more bloated / less sharp on oral min? i'm definitely quitting topical again and already recoering from the pufiness and wrinkling ( i hope those issues were cause by the vehicle and not minoxidil itself). i'm jumping on oral once again instead and i really hope it's not going to f*** my face upIt's a valid remark. It does seem like treating the symptom and ignoring the underlying condition. But this stuff is potent. Perhaps its vasodilation effect is strong enough to 'outpace'/break through the stranglehold DHT has on the follicles. It works for me and many others.
(Some of them who didn't stabilise on AAs. And yet recovered so much hair they later could undergo surgery)
Your mileage may vary. Essentially everything we do is trial and error
