I read an interesting study that claims that most men who have male pattern baldness actually have lower-than-normal circulating levels of DHT in their serum. So they may have a high genetic susceptibility, or it may alternatively be that the DHT levels in the scalp are much different than the DHT levels in the serum, for those susceptible individuals. Does anyone know of a study where they give supplemental DHT to patients with male pattern baldness, and how much does that impact their balding process? This would be someone on either testosterone or DHT therapy. Several sources claimed that it is not always the case that raising the serum level would escalate the male pattern baldness, but I want to see that quantified. Is there a study?
