I have been on oral minoxidil for 3.5 months right now and im experiencing really bad hair growth on my body. I always been a hairy guy but i never had hairs on my back and upper arm. After each month with minoxidil, those areas just keep growing and it really bothers me. Im already like a bear and i don't wanna get more hairier.

Is there anybody who used oral minoxidil for a long time and dropped ? What happened to your body hair ? Did it decline or stood same?

I think that body hair would of appeared eventually, with or without OM.

Depending on your dosage, you have 3 options really. 1) drop it completely 2) reduce dose 3) bear with it.

No pun intended.

This is also a main reason why I am reluctant to start OM.

What brand? You also considered adding a derma roller 1mm?

Kirkland. I dermarolled for 3 or 4 months and decided it is waste of time.Didn't get any result while i used it. But oral minoxidil is different and very effective. My hair darkened after a month now it looks much more alive.

Why would it appear later on ? Im becoming 26 im not like late bloomer or something. My father and uncles also don't have hair on those areas.

I will drop it eventually. Im not gonna spend years with this drug. It's dangerous but i want to see what its potential. Maybe i will keep the gains after dropping it since im already using dutasteride. I don't want to keep body hairs tho.

Because hair starts growing in weird places as we age. Nose, ears, connecting your beard to the back of your head. Perhaps, minoxidil is the only agent causing those hair to growth but in such a short period of time, you’d think they’d probably grow down the line without minoxidil anyway.

Also, I am 21 and already grow more back hair than my father. Like I said, body hair growth is very strange. Whatever you do, best of luck!

In my experience, it thickens up body hair you already have. For me it was a good thing

It's great for eyelashes and eyebrows, too.

Hahaha, this is true!! Applying the topical to my hairline caused more growth on my face, body, ears...and I am already a hairy guy, with a full beard...I don't need more there! I want it on my HEAD!

For women, spironolactone might help.

You know there is always laser removal below the neck so don't let body hair interrupt your life-long goal. Just monitor the forehead because there it is gross and it looks very difficult to remove but maybe it would just fall out upon abatement of use. Cheers.

I am reluctant to report side-effects in terms of increased beard scratchiness which might be a benefit to others. I noticed something similar when I went off spironolactone. I can always have more laser sessions done so that doesn't worry me as much as the ten pounds in ten days weight increase which is hopefully only water. I am keeping watch on the area below the eyes as I have been informed that this can be a minoxidil side-effect from oral ingestion which I have not had with topical. I think that anything that I think that I see is likely to be curable by retin-A and also probably in my case due to not using the proper cleanser for eye makeup. I have been using water which takes a lot of rubbing and this is an area of sensitive skin where MtFs might need to be more careful. The hope is that increased collagen from HRT and some micro-needling will take care of this. I also apply estradiol to my hair and scalp frequently on a daily basis. Estrogen has wondrous skin-healing properties in general similar to retin-A.
