Anyone advice against finasteride for a 19 year od?

Im not sure if I should go for it. Im more scared of the permenant side effects than I am of losing my hair really.
I'm not going to start using it right now, since im going to give my hair a few months to settle down and see if it gets better itself. Been having rapid hair shed, and diffuse thinning. No visible receeding hairline though..
I'm just gathering information, and I want to know what you guys think.

Are u sure it is due to male pattern baldness ? Certainly doesn't sound like it.Get a medic's opinion first or post some pics so we might be able to predict the exact cause.Dont start taking finasteride yet as it wont help in any way if your hairloss is due to some other cause like Telogen Effluvium or some kinda deficiency.

I have friend who his father and brother are not bald. But he is. It managed to skip a generation and he was the unfortunate one.

Actually, Finasteride can be taken with or without male pattern baldness. But, Minoxidil will make your hair fall when you stop it, even if you don't have male pattern baldness (although it'll come back later)

If his hair is thinning because he has some kind of a deficiency then lowering his DHT level won't help him at all. finasteride and Minoxidil are only treatments for people who are losing their hair from a genetic male pattern baldness.

The point is: Minoxidil is like a drug for your hair, it'll become addicted to Minoxidil, even the good hairs. So, if you don't suffer from male pattern baldness and uses Minoxidil, when you stop it, you'll have less hair than when you started to use it. But you shouldn't care since it'll eventually come back in the next hair cycle.

You can see what I've just said by watching the "Stop Minoxidil" line. At some point you'll have even less hair than if you've never treated the male pattern baldness, but the situation will establish after a hair cycle, making your hair look as it has never been treated.

Also I hate the way they've divided up the years. It just makes no sense.

It takes nearly 2 years for your hair to recover from minoxidil? I really can't see that being right.

Actually, each little line is approx. 2 months and half. So it took nearly 7 months to recover the hair that you lost when stopped minoxidil.
